Last year I was Silver II, did placements, Bronze V... climbed right back to Silver II. This early in the season everyone drops, to climb back up. It sucks, but it is what it is. Be glad you're Bronze II instead of V.

Its because you have a low mmr

Although i'm not to sure but I think its because your mmr is low from losing normals.

Normal and Ranked MMR are separate.

It's not straight win/loss. It's also KDA, wards placed, creep score, neutral objectives and turrets taken, KP percentage, and so on.

LOL since when? source please

Since the beginning, at least as far as anyone can figure. No source because Riot's never disclosed exactly what the system looks at, so it's the best guess. But it's always been obvious that win/loss is not the sole factor based on placements results, and given that they measure all of the above and then some for every player in every game (save KP percentage, that's speculation on my part), it makes sense that they would want to use the best data on you as an individual and use that to score you as an individual. Wins and losses is a reflection of the group, and can be easily skewed by any player more skilled than their placed bracket (smurfs, gatekeepers, etc).

This is not true at all. I have been in games where I have hard carried. I have been in games where I was hard carried. The results are always consistent. Placements included. Your MMR is always determined by the outcome of the match. If I go 0-20-0 and get a w, I will be awarded the same points as if I got 20-0

And what do you think determines your MMR?

You start the game with a set MMR. It's basically the same as the ELO system. The average MMR of each game varies based on which players are in the game. Winning and losing give you a + and - MMR. You lose less MMR when facing tougher opponents but also earn less if you beat them.

Once your MMR is set it stays there until the end of season when they do a soft reset. Your current MMR times 1.5 divided by 2. That's where you start off for the new season.

Your performance in game has nothing to do with where you are placed or even how much MMR you earn per game.

If this were true, he'd have placed better, given his record. The difference in MMR between S2 and B2 is pretty noticeable, he'd have to have bombed hard for the reset to eff him up.

Also, the calculation is quoted as ("Current MMR"+1200)/2 = Reset MMR, unless you can quote a more recent source.

I ended last season Silver 5 with an MMR around 1300, which is a little high (I was earning twice the LP I lost) so he should have been at least 1400 MMR before the reset. So he would drop to where I was, or thereabouts.

You have to remember, all of the "MMR" numbers are not exact. We can't see the true MMR anywhere.
