Give an identity to Aatrox

Seriously. Aatrox doesn't have a precise identity.

Is he a tank with hard CC? No, he isn't.

Is he a bruiser with a lot of damage and good defensive stats? No, he isn't.

I consider Aatrox an useless champion right now, he doesn't have good CC, he doesn't have an high damage, as a jungler he doesn't have good ganks and his sustain there is good, yes, but for example Trundle's sustain is better.

Aatrox is a champion that is not the best in anything. Every champion does something better then the others. Veigar can burst AP champions in 1s. Trundle is the best anti-tank champion. Amumu has got a lot of hard CC.

Aatrox not. He is just "meh" in all.

What do you think?

His jump knockup radius should be slightly increased, ult should fear enemies when it deals the initial magic damage and those base stats should be slightly increased as well. The self healing and damage from e is fine right now

I don't understand why rito is intentionally letting him be underpowered

Because when he is strong he has a very oppressive play pattern. In lane he pokes + sustain until he decides to all-in (maxing E), and he does a high amount of damage with insane sustain that lacks any cooldown other than how long it takes for him to auto-attacking. Overall this leaves binary gameplay that's not fun for the player or his opponents depending on the situation.

He needs a rework instead of straight buffs.

There are probably a lot of champions that don't do well in comparison to other champions in their category. With the amount of champions around this is understandable.

Thankfully riot does try and rework champions when they don't seem to work (I don't know how they choose champions to rework actually). But it takes time and there is a line.

aatrox is a generic champ if you want to play aatrox and win play xin, shyvana, tryndamere , bruiser yi the same, they all outscale aatrox with the same exact items
