The most stupid thing a jungler/support can make is...

Risking an enemy to get away because they didn't want to take the kill away from the ADC.

That's what's driving me away from playing botlane, every1 seems incredibly eager to steal farm/things to midlaners so I grew up my style of playing in creating scenarios where I ensure a kill and then I try to take it if I have a chance but when it come to ADC every1 is so freaking afraid that I happen most of the times without even the assist because jungler/support just whatch the enemy running away. While ofc the ADC is ment to be the killer and make the most out of the golds there is no reason for you (jungler, support and random ganker) not to get a kill if there is the slightest risk of losing it. I guess the ADC would rather get sure money from the assist rather than 0 because the enemy could get to safety.

Tbh a good support will know when an enemy can get away or not... and choose whether to kill secure or not

If the enemy has mana and a dash or cc ability, clearly hasn't used flash yet, support hasn't used a peel ability or exhaust yet, or the ally adc is just bad... which happens pretty often too.

But blatant KS's do happen that weren't necessary. The worst is when the opposite happens as the OP described, where they just stop fighting for no apparent reason...

Had a lulu support one game recently (i was the jg) and any time a skirmish would happen, she would w e q auto, and then just STOP. literally walk around for a bit... while the enemy champion would ultimately lifesteal it's way to victory... just barely. then kill the lulu, in what would have been an otherwise extremely easy kill for us. it'd be 'sort of' ok if this happened once... but it happened seven or eight times... that i know of.........

she tried giving kills i guess, but basically just didn't do her job and let everyone die all game long. this is by far the worst thing a support can do, much worse than KSing, and makes them a complete liability to the team.

Since most of us are not in premades where communication is high it's not that easy to clearly understand when the lane you ganked has chances to get the kill or not I'm always welcoming a killing blow not by me even if I was nearly there and would finally get the kill. I get jungler who apologise when taking a kill in lane but that really is them doing a good job, I always tell them "better an assist than nothing :)" also because then I might still have my Ulti CD ready for the next fight where I'll be surely at an advantage because of the gold income from my added farming and the assist.

if your a good suport in bronse silver and the kil is secure, your adc should easily have that, stil has a really high chance on adc messing it up and probertly getting himself killed lol ks = kill secured

OurLestrade7 votes

Always kill secure, that's my motto. On the rare occasions that I try to give kills away usually it ends up getting someone on the team killed :P

EndlessSorcerer4 votes

So long as the enemy dies, I don't really care who the kill goes to.

I'll take my advantage in free-farm and the chance to deny my opponent gold and experience.

mid and jungle snowball way harder than the adc and should generally never leave kills for the adc, unless its a draven with 500 stacks.

Depends on the snowball too. You could snowball into a big one, but the snowball can still melt (metaphorically speaking of lategame fall offs). It is true that a 2/0 ADC is not as oppressive in lane compared to a 2/0 Pantheon, but a 6 item ADC is more useful than a 6 item Pantheon, because he either dies after 2 spells and does nothing, or builds tanky and still does nothing (except being a stunbot).

nice table1 votes

a jungler thats ahead can get your mid ahead and they can then get everyone else ahead, a mid can get everyone ahead as well. a adc that's ahead is still going to afk farm bot and maybe deny the enemy adc some cs.

Stars Shaper1 votes

You can't talk about other lanes as they have a brain and then asusme the adc hasn't :P

nice table1 votes

generally speaking adcs have the least game knowledge compared to other roles, why? because the role requires a lot more mechanical skill than most other roles. this also applies to other roles and champions, for example when you have a d5 riven 1 trick pony and a d5 maokai 1 trick pony 100% of the time the maokai player knows a lot more about the game.

Well, an ADC that's slightly ahead (talking about 1 or 2 kills, not the 9/0 buffets you occasionally get) isn't that much stronger than one that is slightly behind, at most you get like maybe 1 component item extra which doesn't change much in lane, except maybe win trades slightly. A support presence evens that out even further (e.g. a Blitz behind a weaker ADC can potentially turn the table around with outplay).

On the other hand, a Pantheon (or Riven for the matter) that comes back with 2 long swords more than you is going to literally send you back to your fountain one way or another (b or death) every time time you dare to even come near the CS and that lead builds up even faster.

Yet, fall offs for certain champs do happen. I cannot count already how many times I have started off 6/0 as AP Malphite to eventually end up 15/10 when lategame comes. I've seen many fed Leesassins get nuked lategame or Leetanks that don't do enough damage to scare the carries anymore.

The thing is, while mistakes are real, there are also times where the "unskilled" is also real. The noob 6 item ADC will still get owned by the good 6 item ADC in the end, which was why he was feeding in the first place (applies to all lanes, not just bot lane). That being said, it is BECAUSE the ADC are so important lategame, it's like putting all the responsibility on the person who is unable to uphold it.

nice table1 votes

the main point was that the jungler and mid laner can snowball heavily into objectives and cost the enemy team a lot of gold by killing them actually making their adc indirectly stronger than they would have by giving it kills.

LordGeovanni2 votes

The reason its done is so you dont get rageing adc that ends up running from every fight even though they standing in the safest place during every fight

Mighty Mortein2 votes

I will last hit that enemy if I know my ADC is unsure or is too far away to close in themselves. I will not let them get away on 20HP and tilt my carry. That's how I think. It's a team game, as long as that enemy is dead, it should be fine. And then I try again to get them the kill next time.

Tentacle Advisor1 votes

This is exactly how I look at it. That enemy is now dead. That means there is one less person, alive, that we have to worry about for the next couple seconds.

Do I have to say anything?

Wanted to pick a champ I can have FUN with without tryharding too much (i just lost my promos), ended up stunning 3 enemies and winning the game, while my Ashe did.... let's say very little.

Lol I always try to take the kill as the jungler but I don't mind my laners getting the kill

Melledoneus1 votes

Fuck that. If they complain I got the kill, just type an "whoops, sorry ks."

Done. If they keep complaining, ignore them. I'd rather have a kill steal than a no-kill.

Stars Shaper1 votes

I'm actually talking as a Midlaner/ADC. I hate to see ppl not taking a kill because they fear I'm a crybaby for kills and we end up with shitty engages leading to lost TFs which could be easily won otherwise.

Melledoneus2 votes

Then tell them if you see it done once: "Give it your all. I'd rather you get the kill than we get none at all."

When I play a champion I go all-out on my target even if my ADC has a free kill on them. For all I know that Diana will suddenly ult my ADC if I turn away and wreck them, leaving us without an ADC.

can you imagen me playing brand 1v2ing the bot lane while my adc farms getting the double kil with absolutely zero help from my adc to read in chat

jinx: report brand for ks

Jonheath2911 votes

I kill secure when i know the enemy will get away before the adc can get to them. That being said, If I can, i will try and share the kill most of the time. And when i don't immediately take the kill, it's because i know if my partner fails, i can still finish them.

grug1 votes

imo this is only a low ELO problem like gold 5 and below where i've seen it happen a ton of times because you have to stroke your teams ego by giving them kills otherwise they'll feel powerless and start whining.

Spoofghoul1 votes

whoever gets the kill deserved it period

warmcorntortilla1 votes

The only thing that annoys me is when the jungler (usually a tank or something) takes a majority of the kills and then... builds full support/tank with it.

Like, come on, Amumu. You've taken every kill every time you come bot. Would it kill you to build some AP? Use that gold for good...

But maybe that's the silver in me talking. :D

Just Blame Jenny1 votes

When playing support, I always try to hand over the kill. However, this is only if I'm absolutely certain the enemy won't get away. If I think there's even the slightest chance, I will kill secure.

As a jungler, I never pass kills. Sorry, but I've just been burned by too many games where I'd spoonfeed a lane an advantage, only to see it thrown away. I'll take that kill and snowball the game myself, thank you.

GuaigaWaruiDesu1 votes

As a Shen support main, there is a significant difference between ks'ing your adc, and securing the kill.

If I shadow dance in, and land my taunt set in my exhaust, there is little to no reason I'd have to burn a flash under turret to secure what should have been for my adcarry.

The Deckowner1 votes

Even pro suppirts make this mistake, AHQ's support soraka could have easily secured the kill on Nami, but wanted to give the kill to jungler, ended up letting nami get away.

Stars Shaper1 votes

Mistakes happen even when there is a 5 men team with voice communication. I wanted to address this behavior as a "modus vivendi".

The Deckowner1 votes

I am just saying this isn't a matter of skill or team communication, since world championship teams still make this kind of mistake.
