Junglers get WAY LESS gold in the Preseason?

Looking at the patch notes and noticed that jungle items no longer give bonus gold on large monster kills. You get 53 less gold with a full clear compared to Season 5 with machete. You get 143 less gold compared to a machete upgrade. Not counting the scuttle crabs in this, but the difference would be even larger if I did. I took into account the extra gold that large monsters drop in the preseason BTW. Patch notes say there's more jungle gold, but this seems to be a GIGANTIC nerf unless the notes are wrong or I'm missing something.

Why?

because junglers are supposed to be 2nd supports who have sightstone and tabis by 20 minutes, all for the good of our ADC overlords.

It's because they replaced the bonus gold with bonus XP, to prevent the camp-teleport strategy.

Gold earning is up across the whole game also, so it should even out

It wouldn't even out unless I go tax a lane after every full clear I do to make up for all the gold I'm not getting compared to Season 5. You aren't taking into account that the math was only for ONE clear. The gold loss would be pretty significant over the course of a full game.

And gold earnings being overall higher just makes the gold difference between lane and jungle even larger. Don't forget that Jungle items are more expensive now.

Jungle monsters also give more gold.

Jungle monsters do give slightly more gold, but it's bearly noticeable. It's like 4-7 increased base gold on each large monster but the jungle items lost the bonus gold passive. The gold bonus on the old jungle items is much greater than the gold they lost.

what the hell? dont reply if you didnt even read the op. i specifically mentioned that i took the bonus gold that monsters drop into account.

But on the up side you can now choose the roles you want to queue up for and as much as I liked Jungling S5, I'm pretty sure my two choices will be mid and top this season.

This is nice, but it isn't an upside from a gameplay perspective. I'm talking strictly ingame here.

Everyone wants mid. This new system is going to have to break a lot of hearts.

The two lowest gold players on each team earn more passive gold.

You get less gold, but at the same time you get a lot more experience. The same full clear that gives you 53 less gold also gives you 30 more experience, and 150 more with a machete upgrade. I'm not sure about you, but I think I'd value the extra experience more than the gold lost, especially considering the extra ambient gold that everyone gets, especially the bonus gold to the lowest gold members of each team (which junglers are likely going to get a lot of).

I played a few jungle games on the pbe. It honestly feels about the same in terms of gold and you actually get significantly more exp overall. You still end up with around 900 gold after your first back if you do all 6 camps and a scuttle, for example.

You also get 25 more starting gold, more gold over time, whoever has the least gold on the team is getting even more gold over time, and there have been a lot of cost adjustments across the board. Yeah, you're getting a little less gold from the camps. Other means of income have also changed, and even the value of gold has been changed with the recent changes tweaking item costs across the shop.
