Ashe Kit suggestions

Hello everyone! I have a few suggestions to improve Ashe's kit, specifically her passive. I'm not sure about the numbers but I look forward to hearing what you guys have to say! Suggestion 1: Passive: Ashe’s abilities now use Focus instead of mana (Focus bar replaces mana bar which goes from 0-100). Ashe gains 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 Focus per auto attack (increases at lvls 6, 11, and 16, respectively). When Focus is greater than 50, Ashe’s crit chance increases by 5% / 10% (lvl 6) / 15% (lvl 11) / 20% (lvl 16). 1 Focus is continually lost per second. (Q) Frost Shot: Now costs 2 / 4 / 6 / 7 / 8 Focus per hit. (W) Volley: Now costs 15 / 18 / 21 / 24 / 27 Focus at each rank. If volley hits a champion, 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 Focus is returned. (E) Hawkshot: Unchanged. (R) Enchanted Crystal Arrow: Costs 0 Focus. Gain 30 Focus on hit. Suggestion 2: Passive: Ashe’s abilities now use Focus instead of mana (Focus bar replaces mana bar which goes from 0-100). Ashe gains 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 Focus per auto attack (increases at lvls 6, 11, and 16, respectively). When Focus is greater than 50, Ashe’s abilities are empowered and she loses 2 Focus per second until Focus < 50. (Q) Frost Shot: Now costs 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 Focus per hit. [Empowered = Slow percentage doubled.] (W) Volley: No cost. If an arrow hits a champion, 15 / 18 / 21 / 24 / 27 Focus is gained. [Empowered = Arrows are not blocked by minions or champions. Each enemy it passes through reduces the arrows' damage by some percentage.] (E) Hawkshot: Unchanged. [Empowered = 4 gold per CS.] (R) Enchanted Crystal Arrow: No cost. Gain 30 Focus on hit. [Empowered = Area of affect is twice as large.] Edit: I also posted this on LoL's subreddit Edit2: Added other suggestion

First Suggestion:

These numbers wouldn't work at all. If this were the design,

  • 15 seconds of auto attacks gets you ONE Frost Shot
  • 20 seconds of auto-attacks get you one Volley
  • 45? seconds (at level 6) in order to use your Crystal Arrow

If you're not sure about numbers, you're almost better off not trying to make them up. Let Riot do that.

As for having an ADC without mana costs, I'm for the idea but I'm not sure Ashe is the best fit for that design. She already has very unreliable escape before she gets some Move Speed and a few points into Frost Shot, so to further magnify that weakness by attaching energy costs would make her unplayable.

If you're trying to run away, for example, and you're constantly losing focus in addition to focus lost when you try to Volley or Frost Shot your pursuer, you'd run dry very quickly and have no emergency cooldown to fall back on because your Ultimate (which stuns) has an incredibly high Focus cost.

Second Suggestion:

This is interesting because in any realistic scenario, Ashe has 50 Focus to work with. The fact that Volley gives her Focus is a little hard to logic out, but ignoring that, it plays to her chase strategy by allowing her to both slow an enemy and gain the resource needed to slow them more with follow-up Frost Shots.

This suggested kit definitely seems to focus on Volley, as it becomes both her main source of damage, waveclear, and Focus gain, and is the ability that benefits most from having more than 50 Focus. I'm not sure what kind of gameplay would be achieved by having her cast Volley as soon as it's off cooldown every time, since positioning becomes less important with its Empowered verson.

My real beef with this, however, is that of all the AD Carries, Ashe is one of four that really come off as using magic in some way (the others being Lucian, Varus, and Ezreal.) I think that the manaless design would work better for someone like Draven than Ashe from a character perspective.
