RE: Champ select trolls

Make punishments more severe. If people actually have to pay ta huge price for being negative, swearing, harassing others, or leaving games, they will not act up. As it is now, people can get away with anything they want. They don't really have to worry about being permabanned. Everyone always talks about how toxic this community is, and you know why? The social standards are extremely low. Maybe it's time to clean this place up.... If swearing and harassing other players got you a two week suspension from ranked, I bet that people wouldn't do it as much.

Swearing would be such an overstep, harassing is subject to opinion, and neither of those are really a dominantly main issue.

If you really wanted to see the toxicity rate drop like an anvil, you'd include the pre-game lobby and the post-game lobby in the chatlogs, which Riot does not currently do, meaning it's really easy to just wait until the end of the game to tell that Ashe how much of a grilled dick sandwich she ate the entire game as she fed the fuck out of Jinx, or that Teemo top how much of a bastard he is for, you know, just picking Teemo, because that's totally justified.

The other thing is there is no accountability for if the entire team is toxic. So if you have all four people attacking you for feeding top-lane, doesn't matter if the enemy team agrees that your team had shafted you by calling no MIA's and your jungler never bothering to gank a pushed-to-turret Darius which proceeded to tower dive you - trying to report four people lessens the value of your reports, so you'd basically just have to choose one unfortunate bastard to carry all the blame if you wanted anything to happen. Of course, there's a line between "toxic" and your team legitimately just going, "Ashe, you need to stop trying to duel the enemy Jinx; she's way more fed and she will win every fight. Just group with us." And then the Ashe says, "Stfu". And then you reply with, "... Seriously?" And then the Ashe says, "Look at Akali, she's super fed also." To which you reply, "Jinx has 10 kills to Akali's 6, not to mention 4 of those were off of botlane and the other two were because you didn't even bother to help the jungler and I take drag." And then for some reason you get reported for negative attitude after the game because trying to explain to an Ashe how she's being an ass is a bannable offense. Hell, maybe that Ashe was right in saying that she was crazy camped and our jungler never bothered to gank for her once. Or maybe in actuality the jungler ganked three times and gave up because the first time she didn't follow up and the other two she completely missed her ult. I'm just speculating here.

... Point is, this shit is super easy to write out on paper. Practicing it all can get way more problematic.

Duo Q shouldnt exist at all in the first place. Solo Q is Solo Q, not solo players vs teams.

Mandang01 votes

Yep. It makes matchmaking harder too - "I wonder who should play against this S4/G2 duo?" "Fk it, let's just throw players in randomly!"

EvilRabbitt1 votes

Aaah last season. "Hey yo, lets ranked." "But (friend) I am gold 3" "Ah no probs! I can do this, remember last time (I did well)?" "Yea sure!" Matchmaking pulls us two bronzes, my s3/g3 duo, and diamond (toxic diamond >.>). We were against gold 1/4/5, diamond 3, silver 2. ... that didn't go so well xD Fun though.

It is getting old. My two boys, my cousins, and friends have all quit playing. I'm hanging in by a thread. I think what would fix solo queue is change the entire champion select to a team builder format. The pros ALWAYS know their position, so why not other players? It would greatly improve the competitive atmosphere for ranks.

So when you enter into a solo queue ranked game, you pick a position, bans happen, champion select, and you play.

This would help fix one aspect of the game. I have no clue how to handle those people willing to waste their time disrupting the game for others by feeding, trolling, etc.

There is a very easy solution. Actually punish the fucking players that do it. I'm so sick of Riot defending this type of behavior, but you say one ward to this type of person and they report you and YOU are the one that gets punished for it. I honestly don't get how they are so dumb.

Promote ranked 5s and have solo que be a backseat similar to the way 3s is.

It's a team game, not a 1v1 game. Also, people won't troll in a ranked team since it will just mean getting kicked. Swearing and harassing will be limited to what the team finds acceptable. It's just up to Riot to help implement something to get people together into teams. There's also lots of great ways to promote 5s over solo queue.

I work all three shifts, and sometimes will work several months in a row with no days off. I'd have to have dozens of teams going at once, maybe more in order to have the opportunity to play in ranked. I wish they had a solo queue for three vs threes, but they do not.

or the guy who is last pick who says " I cant support" then locks in some random character they aren't even good with with zero support capability. YOu can guess what happens next.... doesn't ward all game, then goes 2 and 15 with 10 assists and thinks its okay because "he's support" (but didn't support shit). So your only choice is to grit your teeth and pretend bottom lane isn't gonna get steamrolled, or dodge. I've dodged 2 games back to back in a day before just to get another troll in the third one.

I don't know what the answer is either. Maybe if there was a teambuilder mode there would at least be less arguing over roles in ranked. It wont stop the most dedicated of trolls, but it would stop some of the people who are just tilting because their top lane got stomped 3 games in a row and they know they can do better, or the guy who is just hellbent on playing a certain role or champ. Some people that are toxic in champ select have good intentions but poor people skills.

Its possible to play a few games, which is all a lot of people have time to play, and never get to play the lane you want just because of what order you ended up in as far as picks. I like to play support, and most people run from that role, but there are days when I cant get support to save my life.....and the people that take it from me are sometimes absolutely clueless. Its even worse the games I actually specifiy that I would like to support, then someone takes it and fails spectacularly.

Funny thing is, I've had people do exactly what the guy in the video did, follow me around the jungle and try to steal my camps. What can you even report them for? Its so easy to just be a douche in character select, then quietly troll all game, then report the people who probably talked a little shit to you as you trolled.

we all know how you feel...I was in a public match just today where we had 3 ADCs bottom...it was really fun until 1 started cursing out for "you stole my lane" well, we wanted to play this lane too and we had multiple kills and had frozen our lane at the turret to take it before suddenly our bad attitude player decides to leave and steal other lanes when possible. lol, I went top lane once to assure their kill and I got disconnected and because the enemy attacked me, my character autoattacked them back and got the kill, then paraphrase, "I wanna punch your face" we were doing exceedingly well at the start and then when they left, they ended the game 1/7 as Tristana...at probably only 24 minutes in. I was disconnecting frequently, so I didn't do too well, but come on, I even built face of the mountain's starting item so I could support the other carries with my CS when I got them and I advised the others to do the same. that tristana proceeded to freak out at us for "stealign" her lane...

btw, 2-3 adc's in bottom lane actually seems to upset the meta quite well, even when the jungler who's been farming to take us out interrupts, it usually ends in at least 2 of the 3 getting killed even if they take us all out and by then, we're fed

thoughts?

I find it quite amazing that for all his brilliance midway through the vid he said 'I don't have an answer for this'. I've never heard him say something so humbling, because he never had to before. Champ select is a shit place to be and 'taken hostage'. I knew it was gonna be good when he said that.

So sadly i have a bunch of duo Q threads ever since i saw this video post. While some people act like this. most duos just keep quite. I think the message of the video was lost with duos are toxic.

Sky really messed up on this one, no matter how you twisit the issues showed it can be applies to any idiot, solo or duo

SexyTaylorSwift2 votes

Most of the Duos I have encountered acted exactly like this to be honest.

Angry Monster1 votes

your not even in ranked. And you have no way of know who the pre-mades are unless they talk about it.

SexyTaylorSwift1 votes

My apologies. I was under the assumption that you knew people are able to duo in normal games as well. Even without playing ranked, you are able to duo up with friends and play the game. I am simply stating that most of them act in ways that have been stated.

That was really funny, yet sad vid. I think every player has experience champion select troll at least once.

I don't think there is harmless solution that wouldn't ruing playing quality of some players...
