I just started playing 2 week ago. I read the guides. I am doing ok but learning. But I do get my ass whooped alot. Last night the whole team was gettng OWNED. I mean really just getting destroyed. lol. And I kept getting nasty remarks from my teammates because they wanted to surrender. at first when i saw the vote, i thought it was sent form the other team. But then i found out it was from my own teammates who wanted to quit. it was one other person who voted no. I know there are gonna be some trollers saying that they wanted to quit cuz i was bad. But I just feel that even losing the game is fun. Why would you quit? Is there a benefit in your score or stats? I dont understand. Any thoughts??

just depends. Do not quit a ranked game! and if you are learning a new champ i dont even vote i just try to learn all aspects of that champ. If i am with my main and am getting trashed then i will so i can focus on the laning phase and try to improve cs and mechanics

I feel like for the most part i do not usually surrender because there is always the chance of coming back if you play smart or get lucky. and like Paladin said i definitely wouldn't surrender in a ranked game because that is just giving away lp, like give it your best shot and who knows you might pull through. I usually end up in a situation where i am doing norms with friends and a few of them want to surrender and i get it, some people feel like ah we are not doing so well lets move on to the next one but like if i'm having fun or learning or feel like we still have a chance i'm probably going to hit no to the vote. The way it is set up is you need at least 4/5 votes as yes on rift i think, so i mean if everyone else really wants to surrender then they'll get it so that is fine but if at least 2/5th's of the team do not feel the same way then it is kind of like i think those 2 people shouldn't have to give up a game because of the other couple of people don't want too play for some reason. I personally think if you queue up for a game you should see it through until someone from one side blows up the other sides nexus. If you feel it's a lost game you might as well keep trying to learn something from it and get better and keep trying anyway, iv come back from games that seemed totally impossible plenty of times after a surrender vote didn't pass. To me all a surrender does is guarantee you a loss.

"/mute all" will solve almost every problem in the game.

Other than that all i really have to say is you're going to get your butt BEAAAAT the first few months you play this game. It happened to you, it happened to me, it happens to everyone. If you desire to get better at this game and improve, you will.

If it's 0-20 I'm surrendering, and if you don't, you're a bellend for wasting my time.

If it's close, then obviously not.

It honestly depends on the situation, team comps, and how bad you are losing.

If I'm not having fun, I'll surrender. But if the outlook is good considering what I said above^ ... then yeah I might stick around.

Think of it like an optional slaughter role like in baseball. If the enemy team is smashing you and there's no chance that you are going to win why waste an extra 10-20 when you can just surrender and move on to a game you have a chance of winning?

That said, I never surrender in ranked.

That doesn't really address the main issues in my opinion. I'd quit in a heartbeat if there was a better game out there. Seriously. The way RIOT handles many things is just... jump ship time. In game, I'm used to being forced to play with idiots. So No, I wouldn't quit because of that.

my opinion on surrendering: the goal of the game is to have fun, if you're not in a situation where that's possible anymore for whatever reason, vote yes to surrender and move to a new game where you can enjoy the game

in ranked, is there something left in the game that you can learn about or improve by going on with the game?, if not, then just surrender and move to the next game
