I want to start duo top....

Here me out, Duo top lane! At first you might think this is a bronze idea but let me tell you, i started using smite as a top lanes when the new jungle was released and all i got was discouragement until it became a new meta.

Here my out, i am not talking about any duo top laner because a duo top will fall low on EXP. So the asnwer? Zilean top with somone else!!! Zilean will grant the bonus 8% exp that is being shared in lane. also 2v1 Ummmmmm yea big advantage! Zilean is a support with strong poke, stuns, slows, and ability to revive. That being said he can be paired with another top laner that also has CC for chain stuns. Zilean can act as the support for top lane and make sure he wins lane. When top is snowballing, Zilean can roam into other lanes and duo (or trio) with them.

Now who is gonna use smite? The bot lane support can use smite! Tanky bot lane support which takes smite and can buy the items which smite can be used with. Now you dont need to take smite as support. Or maybe even top lane can take it. Or no one thats up to the team. Anyways i really want to get this meta going. Thoughts?

Some may say other jungle gets free farm? JG farm isnt that amazing but if it gets out of hand, ward the jungle. And target the jg in your jungle when it seems necessary

It's more that your team is missing out on jungle farm. Zilean can mitigate the xp loss, but he can't generate extra gold for his team. Not as much as jungle would provide. I would say safe adc solo bot lane and duo top perhaps, although that would mean there are fewer people on your team to contest dragon. Trade offs, I guess.

The gold will come from the support item Like Amulet coin, again he is a support, and also you are you using your jungle as a bait as well.

In which case you lose your ability to pressure objectives in the slightest dragon will basically be theirs all the time. IMO as reasonable as that sounds tho I don't really care for drags outside of the 5th one. Old drag was much better.

DUO Jungle is the shit tho. Especially if you can get a good shaco player to be one of the junglers if paired with a nunu then ohhh man. You fuck up the enemy jungler/set him back so hard and the laners are usually spending so much time trying to help them out they all start to fall behind hard on cs/exp. The only issue is needing a smart adc. As long as they know how to stay in exp range they'll outlevel the enemy adc and if at least one of the junglers are smart they'll gank the crap about of bot lane getting the adc ahead to the point they can 1v2

Shadowcapturer1 votes

Dragon will not be theirs because dragon isnt solod till about lvl 6. At then map is awared and team can group with 2 or more for dragons. like cmon... The thing is with duo jungle you cant leave an adc to be alone. Always imo 2 is better than 1 if you get a good pair.

If you have a duo top you lack a jungler. The reason drag isn't solo'd early is because of the risk of the enemy jungler catching you and bending you over while he takes drag for himself. Without the pressure of an enemy jungler coming there's nothing stopping you from taking drag early on or at least less of a threat.

  1. i think you are underestimating the power of wards, 2. lets say they do take first drag, you have timer on it so you can use that to ur advantage, 3. top lane duo will snowball and then roam ( at least one of them will).

You guys are all thinking of the disadvantages, not the advantages.

Trash MammaI1 votes

Uhm, No. You'll lose out on the exp. Granting the enemy top laner an exp lead. Something as silly as zilean being top wont really do much especially since his only damage skill is garbage now.

The advantages you're thinking of would only work in something like bronze 5 where nobody is all that smart about the game and how things work.

Lane Pressure Objective Control Snowballing etc.

You lose out on all of this without a jungler. You can make it work without a support but without a jungler you're just asking the enemy to take baron/drag constantly as well as screwing over your team. In a really low elo/level game yes, it'd work fine. In a normal game where everyone isn't really dumb then no it just wont work

Zileans damage is off the charts and he has a stun. You will be ahead of ecp because of the 8% and the opp backing many times

i can level 3 dragon with nunu, xin and vi. I am sure their are others that can also.

Angry Monster1 votes

go to team builder and find people open to your idea. Its not going to fly in solo ranked though.

you could make a 5s team centered around it.

O worse idea ever.

Shadowcapturer2 votes

You cant say worst idea ever since uve never tried it. At first, smite top was the worst idea ever ( i guarantee you 99% of people thought that)

BluePolarizer1 votes

smite top was not the worst idea. People took jungle items as ADC or top (lizard) in season 3 and top (golem) in season 4. ppl only take smite top because they need it for cinderhulk.

duo top is horrible for the simple reason that there are champs who can 1v2, get relevant farm, then crush your team later with a hard scaling jungler who is freefarming both jungles.

If I see a duo top comp I'm just gonna pick MasterYiUdyr Shyvana Hecarim Sion if I'm the jungler or Urgot Lissandra Corki Gnar Morgana Sion Kennen Chogath Zed if I'm top.

Any one of those champs top can farm every CS in the wave, while still poking you. Eventually they'll be lvl. 7 by the time you are lvl. 5, the jungler comes while he's also lvl. 6-7 and its an easy double kill.

Any one of those junglers clear so fast they can double farm both jungles simultaneously and outlevel even solo laners, then come to crush your duo top lane when you are both lvl. 5 and he is lvl. 6-7.

Shadowcapturer1 votes

You think people can 1v2 but when it comes down to it you can think of Zilean as a hard BUFF. Stuns/slows/revive/DAMAGE. you are forgetting the fact of chain CC. with zileans 1-1.5 second stun you also have your other top laner with lets say a 2 second stun.

Angry Monster1 votes

tired it in season 2. Fought the jungle meta cause i did not understand, til someone actually explained why. Then i got decent at the game and jumped into ranked and got my nice little icon and a free janna skin.

You have no clue what you are talking about. you think people have not tried to change the meta? You missed when relic shield was new and we were duoing top with double shields. Riot nerfed them and the efficient way went back to the jungle.

See what happens when you are doing top is that you push the lane, quite hard. That means you only need to safely farm at tower and never fear a tower dive. Then your jungler can worry about your top lane or can safely gank the other 2 lanes. The solo top laner is not going be to straved for items considering that the other side is spliting CS.

Top usually just ends up a sacerfice play and tries to bait tower dives to get kills. Other lanes can be extra aggressive cause they never have to worry about a jungler.

Leaving your Jungle exposed like that, is too risky. Even if you found a way to even out the XP and gold gen problems. You lose control of all objective Early game. (Especially your own buffs). And unless you have a roamer who can take Jungle camps, Handing your buffs over becomes problematic.

Also if you did Open your Jungle like that, I would use Scavenging smite. Something that shouldn't be a viable option.

It's more that your team is missing out on jungle farm. Zilean can mitigate the xp loss, but he can't generate extra gold for his team. Not as much as jungle would provide. If the ADC is solo, it goes mid lane. For the exact same reason you would put your mage in the mid lane. Because it's the shortest lane, and can easily retreat. A Decent Wave clear mage could sub bot lane because their ability to clear wave safely, make them a bit better in a 1v2. (they also have more CC usually)

Shadowcapturer1 votes

If anything you would want them to enter your jungle. Why? top lane and mid lane can trap him (with wards) or mid lane with top lane can trap him (with wards). top laner supper zilean has sightstone aand he will roam since top lane will be fed

thinking man1 votes

It hasn't worked since start of S4 because it just gives you two starved bruisers.

Shadowcapturer1 votes

Understand that zilean has been buffed and now has stuns that can chain stun with duo top laner. Also other laners can use smite instead, You can also have ur jungle warded and dragon timers to sue to ur ADVANTAGE

killd0zer1 votes

At first you might think this is a bronze idea

Yep I did, and fortunately my first idea was the right idea.

Shadowcapturer1 votes

Sorry you cant say that unless you actually tried it under my perspective. Like i said .... smite top/supp was also a bronze idea

killd0zer1 votes

If i tried it under your perspective, i'd be in a bronze perspective. Fortunately I don't have to do that

Shadowcapturer1 votes

And when it comes down to smite top. You are giving up flash ( for escape) or teleport. Boom no hate there? Everything has pros and cons. all you guys say are cons, say some pros so you can see what i mean. Like make a list, and if anything people will add to it

Durzaka1 votes

You lose literally all of the experience from your jungle, while getting even less experience from top lane.

The enemy is going to be able to invade and take your buffs no matter how well you ward if you dont have a jungler present on your team.

Zilean's experience buff is fucking garbage. I think it lets you get level 4 ONE minion faster than the enemy (in a 2v2 lane) and after that it is literally meaningless.

No jungle pressure mid or bot lane means your team is going to get fucked all game.

Short answer, there is a reason we have a jungler.

Shadowcapturer1 votes

8% exp is not 1 minions and second the opp has to BACK a lot and will fall short in level. and you get 2 people. The jg has to pressure top and wont have time to help bot since its the oppisite side of the world, CAN YOU GUYS TRY IT!

Durzaka1 votes

First, the solo player will NOT have to back alot if they are competent. All they need to do is soak up as much xp as possible. That is how to play a 1v2. Stay back, get xp, get a few CS with ranged abilities.

The jungle can say "fuck top lane" because he can instead get an almost uncontested double kill bot lane.

Meanwhile, because your team doesnt have a jungler, mid is free to apply as much pressure as they want without fear of being ganked by the jungler. Which in turns means your mid lane misses out on farm, and cant roam to gank top or bot.

And sorry to disappoint you, but the 8% experience passive gives fuck all when it comes to an xp advantage. Go pay close attention in the 2v2 lanes and see how little of a bonus the Zilean side truly gets.

Just a little math, it makes melee minions worth 4 extra experience TOTAL, ranged minions worth 2 extra experience, and siege minions worth 7 exp more. (You have to kill more than 10 of each type of minions just to make up the xp of ONE of each type of minions. Meanwhile youre only getting half of the xp).

2 players only get 55% of the total xp. So your 8% xp isnt even going to let you come close to the solo lanes xp gain.

I looked through your posts, and it seems fairly obvious that you're young and you want to be different. Your arguments have clear flaws within them, and people who are responding are pointing them out. Every time, you fail to address the issues that people are bringing up. You deflect them without addressing them. How can you expect for people to take your argument seriously, if you're not defending it?

Zilean does not mitigate enough experience nor generate enough gold income to warrant not having a jungler. Not having the unknown factor means that the enemy jungler is free to abuse the other lanes, which will eventually lead to lost turrets, lost cs/xp, and lost dragons. The jungler does not have to come top, since he can just let the top laner fall behind and snowball every other lane without opposition whilst getting objectives. Having another support top laner also means that your team loses out on a bruiser/tank/assassin with a potentially high income.

How do you justify everything you are losing for the nothing that you gain from having a support top lane?

EDIT:

In higher levels of play, having a duo top means there are clear weaknesses that the enemy team can abuse. These weaknesses will lead to your loss. In bronze, silver, or pre-30 levels, duo top works fairly well.
