I dont get it why does riven counter yasuo ;( yasuo should counter riven like wtf or maybe riven is just to op maybe u can nerf her plz 
or just buff yasuo against her please!
I hope either gets nerfed or buffed thank you. after reading yasuo's lore and riven is the one who killed yasuos elder i think yasuo should counter riven.
redniwediS5 votesYou're assuming Yasuo would win when he confronts Riven. Lore and Gameplay have been completely separated, but even so if Riven was able to kill Yasuo's elder why would Yasuo suffer any other fate?

Only Play Darius3 votesIn case you haven't noticed, Riot doesn't care about fleshing out lore, let alone allow it to impact gameplay. Kalista was released a couple of months ago, go read her lore and you will see what I'm talking about.
Rengar and Kha'zix are an exception, but both have been nerfed beyond belief so the buffs they are capable of getting won't do anything for them anyway.

redniwediS2 votesWhile true, before the invasion Riven was getting special treatment from the higher ups because of her skill in battle. She was hardly a run of the mill soldier.
SEKAI1 votesShe prob lucked out at some point when vs the master, since well, he is the master. Prob he was old or something, or he had mercy over a youngster while not the other way around during that time (Riven only gained self independence/awareness afterwards, most likely due to guilt and some influences she got from the master I would guess but we don't know).
I would say lore wise, Riven and Yasuo should be of evenly matched in general.

TheKingDodo2 votesIt's a skill match up that slightly tilts towards riven. Riven has aoe stun which yasuo will have difficulty dodging, but it's still dodgeable given ample minions. yasuo can windwall her ult, but riven can save her ult at any time and ult when she lands her knockup. Without minions, riven outmaneuvers yasuo; with minions, yasuo out maneuvers riven. Riven doesn't straight up counter yasuo in lane. she does perform better in skirmishes though. oranges and lemons (both are sour sweet, but completely different fruits)

Lores and gameplay don't need to match necessarily, since if that's the case Nasus, Xerath, Renekton and Azir would rek everybody 1v5 without breaking a sweat.
