Malzahar Minion Thoughts

Just some quick thoughts from a Malz main. Looking for support or CONSTRUCTIVE criticism:

  1. The Minions don't die at the 21 second mark but their health starts degenerating (like Sion Passive though maybe not as fast)
  2. They gain a small percentage of Malz Bonus HP (maybe just 5%)
  3. They benefit from Life steal (either in tandem with #1 to help prolong them encouraging Malz to stay active/aggressive, or just separate to make it easier for them to last their full duration)
  4. Damage dealt by Minions counts towards life steal for Malz himself (just a thought)
  5. Lastly, more of just a clarification deal, accurately show their attack damage when you click on them. Currently it does not show that they get 100% Malz bonus AD.

Keep in mind that While all these together would make him exceptionally stronger as an AD build (sacrificing ability damage output), I also think they should be considered on a lone basis as well. (example: just the heath degenerating part would allow a slight bit more damage output from them based on life they have when it triggers)

There's been a recent bit of buzz with Malz due to the W nerf, which is sad but since they are looking at least slightly at him, I thought I would try to get some Malz love going. Currently his only strength is that he can hit hard quickly (secondary role is assassin after all), but he still lacks mobility so he is easy enough to counter.

EDIT: Another idea that I've seen before but forgot about would be if his minions would leap onto the target of his ult. As is now they have to path find and trot over to the person.

Id love some buffs to malz minions, theyre wonky how they target, and have weird rules like, "don't apply onhit, yet still apply black cleaver. Don't apply spell effects, yet apply ryalais." If they just applied all on hits I'd be happy.

The thing is any buff to malz minions will mean they have to take power from other parts of his kit, or hell be way OP.

So I imagine Riot would then start the discussion of what his core identity is. Like "is he a magic guy slinging spells, or a voidling guy spamming minions." So yeah anyway, I dont think theyll mess with him too much until he's up for a champion update.

Try out Hextech gunblade for lifesteal, works with crabs and spells. I'd like to se pets get some AoE damage mitigation as they die off whenever something blows at them.

His W was already nerfed in this most recent patch, I think.

I assume Malz will be looked at for the Immobile Mage Update that's coming later next year. I would personally like to see him receive some changes, and while I would like to see some to his ult, I'd just as much like to see some changes to his minions. Make them a bigger part of his kit. Currently his minions are really only useful in the laning phase.

You know what i hope changes with malz? I hope his W becomes a lesser zzrot portal that lasts forever, and ties a single voidling to it within a range. Then we can give malz a spellblade passive so his little dagger makes sense.

I'd rather have them scale with like 30% AP as an option

Malz's voidlings are probably the healthiest champion-owned-minions in the game right now. If he needs changes, it isn't in the minions.

I'm hoping that voidlings are the model they use to base new-Yorick after.
