Another Clarification about CV Please

I have been using CV ( Curse Voice ) since the site says it follows all of Riot's policies and is legal. Today, a friend sent me a PM saying,

Friend: stop using curse voice my friend just got banned perma-ban for using curse voice Me: really? Friend: yeah 3rd part software that overlaps the real game curse voice has ult timers some people use it, to gain information on their opponent ( by stealing that information ) which can be crucial in game so its a bannable offense for using curse voice Me: i dont use timers tho Friend: they cant tell so they will just ban if you are overlapping it with your real game Me: online it says it is fine as long as we just use voice chat and with people we know Friend: idk but i am playin it safe since my account is worth a lot cuz they showed him proof of using it, and why he got banned Me: what did they say? Friend: cause currse voice still has that code which they can retrieve those timers they have no proof that he is not using them also, because that code is still there, if the opponent team uses curse voice, he can retrieve information from there
