Show Rengar some love.

Something needs to be done with Rengar. At this moment I feel like hes unplayable due to the fact that all these new champions have so much utility in their kits. I'm not saying hes a underpowered, I'm just saying that there is really no reward for choosing him anymore.

I'm going to use my last game as Rengar top against a Gnar for example.

I tried to go for early game aggression, because knowing Gnar, he would snowball and carry (which he did). So I bought a longsword with 3 pots. HOWEVER, the whole effort was pointless because I couldn't touch him. He would stay away from brush, just out of my leap range, and just poke me with his AA and his Q that ALSO has a slow on it. Basically saying, Rengar is not really strong at anything anymore. He cant trade with most top laners now a days, his sustain is god awful now, and he has no reliable gap closer / cc making early ganking incredibly hard. Even his ult makes him suck as assassinating now cause he moves slower than molasses, and if thats not enough, the enemy team knows hes close anyways!

Now I know the Rengar nerfs were much needed at the time, but I do believe Riot needs to reconsider some of the changes due to the current meta. Perhaps bring his old ult move speed back, but keep the indicator? I dont know exactly but it definitely needs some thought.

I've been playing Rengar for a long time now, and just hate the fact that one of my favorite champions isn't worth playing anymore. Anyone else agree? Can anyone give me some tips on how to use him more effectively?

Rengar isn't a good pick for top because he has bad matchup against all midder topper and even when he has a good matchup (he is good against moakai for exemple ) he is outscaled very hard late game. The problem with rengar for me is that If he is built has a bruiser like in lcs he can just use the ult to engage and stop because then he is useless for the rest of the tf, while if he is built like an assassin he can oneshot someone , but he is easily countered buy zhonyas and ga because he has a situational mobility and a close gap. Moreover for me his kit is is terrible from the point on kit design because he has zero sinergy between the spells: look to the new patch and tristana, she has a good example of a kit design, rengar no, he is binary. SHould be good if a combo beteween q+e or the empowered q allows you to use your passive out the brushes like kalista q, or that a bolas could mark someone to give you just a little power of chaise , yes you know, just what an hunter should do, but they are too busy to give mechanics to Nidalee

they are buffing nocturne and nautilus who are in a far worse spot.

I guess what I'm trying to say is the new champs are leaving the old champs in the dust with their kit versatility.
