In ranked when you dont lock in your champ it kicks you out and cancels the match... WHY? whats the benefits of doing that? why not just lock it in for you like in normals? [sg-shisa]

Simple it's on purpose to make sure said player is paying attention. Unlike what many people think the game starts the moment you get into champ select and it's even more importantly in ranked (counterpicks, synergies...etc.) If you just pick a champ and don't lock it in then you're clearly not giving the game the attention necessary.

the reason is because, if you DC, the game doesn't start with a DC'd player. And if you go afk, the game doesn't start with an AFK player, which can lead to ugly jungle invades.
