Bond of Stone good on Thresh?

When the masteries were changed and I were choosing them for my Thresh support, I chose Bond of Stone thinking that any damage reduction for my carries will be good.

But now I have doubts. First of all, Thresh ain't all that tanky (even though I build him so). So maybe the damage I'm intercepting is making me die too fast? Second, I don't really know what the range on BoS is, I heard it's pretty small. So I don't even know when I'm using it and when not. And finally maybe just other keystone masteries would be better on Thresh?

What do you guys think?

Bond of stone is imo the best on thresh...he doesn't really have an overly significant shield so Windspeaker's isn't worth it, grasp of the undying would be awful but it doesn't really support the team, strength of ages probably doesn't work too well. I think the only other choice would be for Thunderlords to increase the, albeit small, burst damage on Thresh. I still think, tho, that Bond of Stone is the best option.

My thoughts exactly, I just usually stray away from Thunderlords on supports.

On Thresh i think Thunderlords is great for lane but as the game goes not so much. I always use Thunderlords on Zyra and morgana but not so much on Thresh or Lulu. It really depends on what your goal is. What are you trying to do in lane phase and in mid late game.

About Windspeaker's - I forgot to mention it. I always build Thresh with 3 shields - his W, Face of the Mountain and Locket. So maybe Windspeaker's would make sense in that case? Or isn't it worth it?

You know I didn't think of that. I usually build locker but not FoTM. In that case you would be sacrificing a portion of you laning phase for a stronger team fight.

You think Windspeaker's with 3 shields would be better in tfs than BoS?

Thunderlord's makes more sense to me. You want to land your hook and deal a ton of burst damage to earn your adc a kill.

Even then Thunderlords is a mediocre choice for Thresh and for any tank support since it falls off after lane phase. Bond of Stone is way better, it makes Thresh more durable, which is good since as a support he is not going to be able to buy a lot of tank items.

Exactly what I was going to write about - it might have a nice burst in the laning phase for those few hits but what after that?

And that's why I don't take Thunderlord's Decree on anyone, except burst mages (Lulu mid, Chogath, and Kennen for example) and assassins (Khazix Fizz Kassadin) as well as some caster ADCs like Lucian. On any other champion, I don't take Thunderlords. Either because they don't have synergy with it outside of the early game, or because they may have synergy but other offensive masteries like Deathfire's Touch or Fervor of Battle are better.

Better than Thunderlord's Decree.
