We should be able to sell emotes

The last chest I earned had an emote as a "prize." I am not a fan of emotes.

The chest before that also had an emote. I am NOT a fan of emotes.

Why can we not "sell" the emote (when we get it) for orange essence? It can be tough to get a chest and it can be exciting to open the chest (if you have earned the key). But when the "reward" turns out to be an unusable emote [my opinion ... others, such as my daughter will disagree], it is rather disappointing. In my opinion, most emotes are meaningless to other people or are used to taunt the other team. Emotes such as "Are you serious,", "So lame," "How could you," and "Catch me if you can" do not exactly encourage a non-toxic environment. Yet, "Are you serious" is one of the emotes I got from a chest. I will never use it.

Please, please, please RIOT, give me a choice: emote or orange essence. From my perspective, even 50 orange essence is better than an emote.
