Dear Riot, can we have these two changes?
First off, I want to commend Riot for the objectives. I LOVE that feature, but it's lacking. Events can be completed in a few matches and then you're sitting there twiddling your thumbs for the remainder of the event with nothing fun to do. Even if we only get severely reduced rewards, having a reoccurring objective for these events besides "First Win of the Day" is something for people to work towards. And this doesn't have to be exclusive to events. Simple objectives like "Earn a 2.0 KDA in a PVP matchmaking game", "Deal the most damage to objectives", or "get higher than X farm" happing daily would be nice, even if they gave less than the First Win of the Day in blue essence. It adds some more involvement in the game and a source of fun.
So, I've thought long and hard about this second change before I posted it, and I have to say that I feel Riot needs to bring back true damage towers. The true damage doesn't have to stack, or even be only true damage, but there has to be more of a risk to tanks. There is a multitude of reasons for this, but the biggest is Tanks. Long story short, I build a few health + armor items and towers - even with the stacking damage per hit - are a nuisance and not a danger. In solo lanes like Top Lane and Mid Lane, its less of a gamble for tanks/bruisers to tower dive and more of a fun way to rub it in the face of your opponent that you're a tank/bruiser and towers are a tickle. If you need examples, look at Yorick, Volibear, and Nasus. Three easy examples of how building a little damage and then building tank makes tower-diving too easy.
Why do I feel this is important? When I first started playing league roughly four seasons ago, even in Bronze Elo tower dives were a gamble that required skill and teamwork to pull off. With the change to physical damage, this negated that risk. So you want to tower dive? Sunfire Cape, Deadman's Plate, Zz'rot and another health item is basically all you need. Especially on champions like Nasus, Yorick, and Volibear. This isn't exclusive to those champions either, but they are good examples.
