The one champion that has almost always been strong but gone under the radar

So, this season I decided to go back to my roots of being a mid main from being a toplaner and I mostly started with playing my pocket picks(Ekko, Azir, DIana etc..). But then I realised that a lot of these champions have very hard counters(except for maybe azir but still). So then I started looking for a safer pick, and one that has almost never in the meta been a poor pick. No I am not talking about Orianna, I am talking about Anivia. Anivia has been one of the champions that has almost never been a poor pick and I never really understood why that is. I looked at her kit and whilst yes she has a lot of good stuff in her kit, she never seems to be oppressive. But recently I watched a streamer that did a scaling build on Swain but he specifically said (try to survive the first 20 minutes and then you are set), so then it hit me. Anivia is so good because she can go the scaling build of ROA and tear and not get punished for it due to her passive and general safe lanning phase she has. And even so she never feels oppressive so she won't get banned and she is never popular because(well I don't know). To any fellow midlane main out there, I highly reccomend picking up Anivia as she is likely to always be a good pick and a very good blind pick as well
