Does riot even understand the meaning of PRIMARY?

7/8 games stuck in my secondary role, same shit yesterday, only got to play some more mid games cause ppl were kind enough to let me my role Went from 70% winrate to nearly 50%.

Either patch and call it role 1 and role 2 or make it so it actually gives you your primary more times. Im sooo tilted

So. Let's say you have a 60% chance of getting your primary role and a 40% chance of getting your secondary.

Simple binary probability problem 8C7 x (0.6)^1 x (0.4)^7 =0.0079 So about 8 people in a thousand will experience what you have. If those are the numbers, it isn't too unlikely. Of course, I don't know exactly what the probabilities are, but it will be around there.

A 60% chance of getting something does not mean you will get it 60% of the time. Your sample size is very small - only 8 games - so this result is not surprising.

Well add me to it. I have gotten my primary choice exactly once out of about 10 queues.

I have been getting it more and more but even with top as secondary mid is hard

Funny thing. Me and my friend both put Primary Top secondary something else. We both got the other. Another game we tested something. We had 4 of us choose top primary fill secondary. The random 5th guy got top. We were extremely pissed at the system.

Yeah i really hate that part about the system. Especially since two people in the same queue aren't allowed to both pick the same roles. If I have 3 people with me at least 1 other person should be allowed to pick both of the same roles as me. If I want top primary and mid secondary my friend should be able to take mid primary and top secondary if he wanted. Neither of us should be forced into a third role.

I queue as support primary and mid secondary and I keep ending up as mid on the same team as someone who went mage primary support secondary.

Same deal for me, doesn't matter what I pick secondary (top, fill, mid, blah). I seem to get my primary/secondary split 50/50.

I'm a support main, you would think I'd get support 99% of the time.

I que:

1: Jungle 2: Top

15 games later have yet to play a single top.

The fact that Mid is one of the most popular roles mixed with support having the smallest main playerbase means you should not be surprised in the least.

I roll support main, mid secondary and get mid about 10% of the time so far.

Dragonface2 votes

I put support as primary 5 games in a row. 5 games in a row, I got the other role I picked.

Drugoth1 votes

What we all need to remember here is that the roles that are needed fluctuate constantly so no actual math can ever be applied here. It's just random.

You shouldnt be surprised at all. No one likes support so if you put support or even fill in any of your choices, you basically 100% make yourself support.

This isn't rocket science, people hated support in blind pick and draft pick. They still hate support in dynamic pick.

Have you tried picking a secondary role that you're either better at, or is more contested and is less likely for you to actually get it? The point of picking a secondary is so that queues aren't at a stall-standstill because the game can't find someone willing to play a specific role. I get my primary role in 90% of my games, so, it feels like it's working well for me.

Dont you think that system where people are figuring out how to avoid secondary role is fail?

AbyssionKnight1 votes

I'm a support player and if I pick support primary and mid secondary, I get mid most of the time.

So I now put Mid primary support secondary to actually play support.

Definitely something a bit off with how they determine these things.

Sounds like a you problem m8 i get my primary 9/10 games.

It's tilting me too. I go mid primary support secondary and I've only gotten 1 game as mid out of 10. I enjoy playing support on occasion, but I'd really like to get my primary more often. Sadly the solution seems to be not putting support as one of my options :'( which is sad because I'm actually a pretty good support.

I mean, if you really, really want to play mid you can still play blind pick. Any other role, just put mid as your secondary and you'll almost certainly get your primary.

Or, I guess become accustomed to playing support and bathe in the 3 second queue times

I queue ADC with mid second and i've gotten ADC 13 times in a row or more. Yay abusing the system!

Or perhaps, in my opinion, relaunch team finder in place of blind pick.

If your primary role is much more often chosen than your secondary, then there are too many people filling up the area you want to play. Luckily, there are so very few people in your secondary that it can easily fit you in.

I like to choose Top lane as my secondary because too many people want it, so I can be sure that I'll get Support 90% of the time.
