How easy is it to demote a whole division, with the new ranked system?

Im not close to demoting or anything, and im climbing pretty fast right now, but I was just wondering, is it easier to demote from say plat 4 -> gold 1 this season? I remember a few seasons ago i lost like 10 games in a row in silver 5 and didnt get demoted, but im wondering if that changed with the new ranked. Thanks!
