About Zed...

With Zed's rise to the #1-#3 ban rate and arguably the most popular mid laner pick, let me straighten something out about him: ZED IS BALANCED.

People have been complaining about how unhealthy he is now in League, saying how his laning phase is god-tier and his ultimate shadow is op, which is not true. His laning phase is definitely good but he has weaknesses. When he uses his W-E-Q combo to poke, he is open to counterattack afterwards since his shadow goes on approx. 18 second cooldown. It also leaves him open to an easy gank. As long as you dodge his abilities, you should have pressure in lane. Push the lane constantly and he won't be able to put pressure on the map either, unless he's willing to lose his mid tower. Now onto his ultimate. The un-targetability of his ultimate is only .75 seconds long, meaning that the player has to have good timing if he wants to dodge something. You should always be aware if he has his ultimate to not bait yourself into using an ability that can be dodged by it. The thing about Zed in general is that he relies on outplaying you and using his shadows to jump around. You should never be in a position where Zed can just go straight on you and kill you without help from your teammates. YOU CAN PEEL HIM AND YOU CAN KILL HIM. Just like any other assassin out there, you need help stopping him from killing you. Zhonyas, QSS, Exhaust are all counters to Zed. Never underestimate the power of CC. Having your support with you to lock him down makes life so much easier. He is not impossible to kill. I know that winrate isn't a good reason to say if someone is balanced or not, but I want to look at it for the reason behind the bad win ratio he has. Zed has one of the highest skillcaps in the game right now, and it takes a LOT of skill and work to master him. And many people haven't done that with him. Even when fed, you have to make your decisions of when to go in or where, or who to go in on wisely. Otherwise you just get blown up away from your team, or don't kill who you wanted to. Many people forget that and lose games because of it. Splitpushing was indirectly nerfed with the tower changes, so Zed's split push like a boss strategy is more controllable now. You can push as a team up and make the decision to try to outpush him in another lane much easier. I think people who have been complaining about Zed being op have just been dealing with fed Zeds. Let's not forget that him being an assassin means he needs gold to get items. Yes he can get minions easily, but really he needs those early kills to snowball. If he doesn't snowball, he DOESN'T KILL EVERYONE. Plain and simple. Unless the Zed is Bjergsen or you are just that bad at keeping track of him, he is pretty useless when behind, especially in team fights. When behind, he doesn't have his items he needs. No items, no damage. No damage, no kills, which is what assassins are all about.

Overall, I feel that Zed is balanced by the skill you need to have to use him effectively, Zhonyas, QSS, Exhaust, the ability to cc him when he ults someone, the ability to outplay him if you are good enough, and how much he relies on snowballing and getting items. People just need to learn how to play against him. So Riot, please don't change Zed or nerf him. He is one of the most balanced champions right now.

Zed is completely shutdown by armor before acquiring penetration, he relies on landing a skill shot in order to kill with his ultimate, his ultimate is hard countered by the use of flash, his burst is limited to the amount of energy he has, and he is also constrained by high energy costs and energy inefficiency until he levels his abilities to max rank.

He is THE ONLY ASSASSIN that is RESOURCELESS and has a easy way to escape because of that stupid change to his R shadow Doesn't matter if you "outplay" zed, he will find a way to get out

I made a similar discussion about Zed which made me come across this thread while I was looking for my own since I named mine "About Zed." as well funny enough. If you would like to hear another point of view about Zed, Check out my post and please actually read it because I feel like I cover a lot of valid points. I always love to read the comments and see what people think about each others opinion about league. Here's my post: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/hArpHioZ-about-zed I love how not only me feels similarly about zed. summoner 13

Zed is most certainly not balanced and everytime he's allowed to be strong he breaks the game.
