Who says this? This isn't even a thing any more. Fed as hell bruisers taking over games was season 4. Who is supposed to solo carry with catch-up xp and shutdown gold making sure you never get enough of an individual lead that you can solo carry.

while its not nearly as possible as it once was for one person to be able to win a game single handedly... it is still however extremely possible for one person to lose a game entirely for a team!

I played with a challenger and was coach by him a couple years ago, even he said "Some games are just a wash, can't be won."

Faker is pretty good, but he doesn't always carry either... sometimes, he even feeds, and SOMETIMES, he even GETS carried...!!!
