good champion vs poke top laners (like Jayce and Ryze)

Most of my preferred champions struggle with poke champions: what's a good champ to pick up vs these pokers?

Remember that sustain generally beats poke, so against Jayce and Ryze you would be best off as Vladimir or Xin Zhao.

Fiora actually has a lot of potential against the champs you mentioned, mainly through her double Q ability.

In the case of Ryze, just rush hexdrinker then proceed to Hydra. Don't let him poke you without you responding back with a follow-up. Force him to engage and he'll think twice about poking you constantly.

In the event of Jayce, just avoid his skill shot as best you can. Then, when you engage with your first Q, hold off on the second in the event he knocks you back, casting it again to keep the gap closed. Otherwise, try to cast it again, if safe to do so, before that 4 second window is gone.

against ryze there's a lot of champions you can go with

nidalee and vlad are both pretty good, mundo is excellent, irelia is a strong aggressive pick, and riven works if you are good with her

against jayce you can take take quinn for the blind, gapclose, and mobility advantage. the interrupt from your vault also helps a lot vs his hammer combo. you could also just pick a champ like rammus or renekton and stack armor if that's more your style.

personally i tend to pick riven into both of them. she can outplay them but you have to be soooooo careful before level 6 it's like walking on nails... so probably wouldn't recommend her unless you're very confident in your mechanics.

I absolutely love using Urgot top against Jayce in particular. The matchup gets hysterical around level 4. Every time Jayce fires a boosted shock blast I just hit Urgot's Terror Capacitor and it absorbs a massive chunk of shock blast's damage. I once got an enemy Jayce player so frustrated with how many of his Q shots I sponged up that he forced a swap with his bot lane out of frustration.

I prefer to use ap WW, if they dont buy early mr, its a very very snowbally lane. Nasus is another good pick but he does have a learning curve early game (i suggest LS quints)
