Anivia's New Ulti...

Ok so its no secret that I dont post on here often, but when I do it is because I either got desperate or rather aggravated at something. This post is due to the latter of the two.

Onto the topic at hand, in the slew of mage updates that were featured in path 6.9 Anivia's ulti got this clunky "growth over time" effect similar to how Cassiopia's W (Miasma) formerly grew in size on the area it was placed. Although I can (sort of) understand the reasoning for this change I can't help but feel that this was a huge quality of life nerf to Anivia to say the least. This change has lead to the, rather large, indirect nerf of her ability to reliably trigger the double damage portion of her "E" post 6 which was, in my opinion, a tool Anivia relied on to maintain a strong lane presense post level 6 when the opponent might be conidered to have an "advantage" given the slow and costly nature of maintaining Anivia's ulti compared to most other mid lane champions comparatively high impact ultimates.

Perhaps this negative sentiment towards the change is just the result of "growing pains" as I attempt to "relearn" the champion with her new ultimate, but I cant help but feel put off by this change, and I really hope that Anivia can get some form of compensation for this indirect change? (Maybe add a small "frost" slow to the "unfilled" outter portion of the full ulti that doesnt actually do damage.) I dont know what riot has planned for the champion, but I really do hope that this issue at least gets addressed/acknowledged.

P.S. No I am not claiming to be an Anivia expert, but I can say after playing her for a fair amount before 6.9. I cant help but feel put off by this change.

Join the Rant Megathread on the related subreddit, all the Anivia players seem to share the same opinion for now:
