Opinion on Anivia?
Hey there, looking for some opinions on Anivia. I'm only Silver 4 and have recently tried Anivia out and I almost ALWAYS do good with this bird. My brother said she sucks, and any assassin does what she does but better. Opinions?

One of the best anti-siege mages, passive counters assassins, and has 100% scaling on q and e. She's solid, Just very under played.
Anivia's not an assassin, so I don't really see how she can be compared to one. She's an incredibly powerful utility mage with decent lane presence, great burst at all stages of the game and some of the best CC and area control around. She's a bit fragile, but when played right can outplay even assassins. She can exert a huge amount of control in teamfights and can multi-task efficiently enough to paralyze the enemy back line while denying their front line access to your squishies, all while bursting down targets from a decent range. If you like her, I definitely recommend you play her more.

No Assassin can do what Anivia does... She´s an incredible strong Champion, though hard to use properly. Just keep playing her if you have success/fun with her.
One of the most annoying mid laners I have ever seen when played well. KFC if played terribly.

As others have said, she's incredibly powerful yet difficult. Figuring out how to play her without running out of mana is pretty much the first hurdle (large amounts of mana regen aren't the best to go with) Then you gotta learn when to use Q>E or R>E, consistently landing her stun, how to not be Jarvan and wall the enemies away from your team mates, lasting hitting with an almost Karthus-esque attack animation, having the lowest base movement speed in the game...
She has a lot of hurdles to get over in order to enjoy some of the easiest to land yet dumbest damage in the game.
If you do pick her up, I recommend: Rod of Ages or Archangels Staff, one or the other. Rabadons, Zhonya's, Sorcs, GA (goes well with her passive), Abyssal Scepter (I prefer over void staff, you're usually within the aura range). But I haven't played her much in S4, so my build is pretty out dated.
I've also seen people build her very tanky, like, Rod of Ages + Warmogs. I've never done it because I'd rather have 2k damage combos, but forcing the enemy to kill a 3k hp egg in the middle of a teamfight would be pretty silly in practice. Her AP Ratios are high enough that you don't need a ton of AP to be a priority after all.
Anivia was the first champion I purchased, and she's also my main. While she's difficult mechanically, you do get used to her combos after a short time. Wall placement is a bit tougher in my opinion. Also, you need to abuse your passive. You can play aggressive early, especially if you're getting assistance from the jungler. You get egged, the enemy gets killed.
For items I generally rush Chalice, RoA, Athene's, then either get Deathcap, Zhonya's, or whatever from there. I don't recommend Liandry's except as a last item unless they have annoying tanks. Anivia's made to CC and burst people down. Against AD champs, get a Tear and then Armguard and work from there.
If you want to see someone play her very well, check out Freeze on Twitch (username freezesnakepit there). He streams almost every day, and I believe he's currently the top Anivia player in NA. He's not the best with CSing (She's one of the hardest champs to last hit with!) but he knows her mechanics in and out. It helps that Freeze plays nothing BUT Anivia. (not counting ARAMs and such)
Anivia has difficulty 10 for a reason, she is not someone you take because you were last pick mid.
But when you know how to play her, she wrecks.
