Elo system that is based on more than just losing or winning.

A mmr system that measures individual merit rathar than just wheter or not your team loss or won I believe would be better than our current system that only considers whether or not you win or lose.

I feel that the reason it would be better is because it would take away peoples need to win and highlight self improvement.

People would rage less because their rank isn't dependent upon how bad your team is and would reflect your contribution to the game rather than just the win or loss. I have more ideas of how it would be better but I want to see what the people think first.

Depending on what the system measures, that could easily lead to behaviour detrimental to teamwork. Tanks might refuse to initiator to protect their KDA, people would try to last-hit every kill, many players would just refuse to group so that they can pad their farm, etc.

The current system measures your ability to win as part of a team. Considering that this is a team-based game, that's quite appropriate.

It is a team game. If yoiu have a good KDA and lose, you probable didnt give it your all to help the team. it is a team game after all. So you should be graded how well you can win as a team.

This is an excellent idea in principal and is exactly what ranked needs. The problem you are finding with your post is that your idea is not well enough formulated to account for all the things a system might need to appropriately address all concerns about possible abuse. I would recommend you flesh the idea out some and present it in a detailed, well worded post in 2 or 3 days after you have contemplated all the possible issues that might arise. Give it some thought and come back to us with your new proposal.
