What is up with bot lanes?

So i main top and I mainly play jayce and j4. I have been noticing I go like 11-4 12-2 and still lose a lot lately I normally win lane or play passive enough if im in a bad match up to not give kills. so I went back through my match history. And man bot lanes are just wow. in a 4 game stretch my bot lanes were 11- 52. and 7 of those kills were on a 7-15 cait. My last game i started 11-3 and i look and bot is 2-16 combined. But that seems to be the trend my wins depend on getting a good bot lane and loses are the same i just seem to not get them as much. And people say i should be ganking them i do tp gank and i get them a kill then i return top just to see double kill on there ez. Why does winning seem to be so dependent on bot i may have to switch roles.
