The common misconception about jg.

They cannot be everywhere at once. Please look at the other lanes to see how well they are doing before screaming REPORT OUR JG. If every lane is losing, they can really only help one person at a time. And they can keep that up for so long before they themselves get behind.

Fair enough.

But a common misconception I also see, is that when all the lanes are behind DIRECTLY BECAUSE OF THE ENEMY JUNGLER, then THAT is on you.

I don't need a jungler to win lane, or at least not lose, but expecting me to never die in 1v2s, especially considering how easy it is to dive right now, then that is idiotic.

And if you then have the balls to say to me "It's not my job to win your lane", then you can go into practice mode and practice gank pathing and counterjungling/ganking.

When the jungler is killing dragon while his top laner dies to a gank.... clearly his fault. Playing around the vision they have and the junglers position is the responsibility of everyone. If you die to a gank its always your fault, mabye your jungler could have done more or could have done something somewhere else but it's still your fault too. xD

if you want to climb you should notice that your jungler is useless and then play like your jungler is useless, that means don't depend on him saving you or whatever you wanted him to do.

What about a Ramus who somehow got fed and has armour and flash taunts you at lvl 6 while you the enemy leblanc kills you. Ypu dpnt expect someone to eat so many tower shots 7 mins in the game.

Leaf on Bush4 votes

if you keep track of the scoreboard and pay attention to what happens on other lanes then you should at least expect it.

I knew what was going on and how strong he was. I just didn't think you could be so tanky so early in the game where you don't care about towers.

GelsominoKiller4 votes

Eh... Depends.

I've lost count of the times i warned a lane "lee sin is coming, play behind and don't push" just to see them die like the imbeciles they are.

Sometimes the enemy jungler ganks mid and walks straight bot through a ward and still manages somehow to catch them... Yeah.

A fair amount of the time it really isn't the junglers fault. Ex: 10 minutes in your top laner has died 3-4 times (mostly 1v1's to the enemy laner), doesn't ward, gets caught out, and loses tower super early. Now the enemy jungler just focuses on camping your mid-lane and stealing your topside jungle. So because that one laner was retarded the rest of your team starts falling behind. You can't 1v1 the enemy jungler because he's ahead on gold + xp since half your jungle doesn't belong to you, your midlaner gets fucked because their top and jungler help push mid tower down so you lose even more control of your jungle, your botlane gets fucked the same way next, and there's nothing you can do about it even if you had some early successful ganks mid/bot because your top fed that hard that early.

My theory is that each lane should not depend on the jungler, they should be able to either win the lane or realize that they can not. From there it is either, farm under tower or let the lane fall and roam else where.

If bot lane goes 0/3 in the first 5 minutes, that is not the junglers fault, that is the lane not understanding how to play the game. First death, not bad, can easily come back from that. Second death, start playing safe, maybe farm under tower. After that, it is completely on them for losing the lane.

It is never the junglers fault that you lost lane from lack of ganks. (unless he is just feeding your lane).

I main support on SR.

If every lane is losing the jungle just simply isn't doing their job and the other jungler is.

Simple as that

SinofAtlas1 votes

I went 13/6 shaco last game. Every lane still lost. My score by 10 minutes was 4/0

TheJakeinator3 votes

Your top lane Riven shit on that Darius. You lost because of that Annie. Bot lane barely lost too

In any case, it's not always the jg. And I think we will all agree when I say this. People are stupid.

sounds like a case of one guy got all the gold and once he was the down the rest of the team was easy pickings?

Supreme Senpai692 votes

I've been 12/2 as Zac once and all lanes still lost. Some people are just bad and either don't help when being ganked and don't get assist gold, are so bad that the ganks just don't matter, or back as soon as the enemy laner dies without resetting the wave. Sometimes it's just out of your control

Slythion11 votes

that's just simply not true at all

TheJakeinator3 votes

Yes it is. There are rare occasions that every lane just gets obliterated and the jungle cant do anything but those are like I stated, Rare. If every lane is losing and the other jungle is just running around fisting your lanes and they are blaming you they have somewhat of a Merit. That doesnt mean it is all your fault. They could ward, play safe, etc but you still aren't doing anything

TheHappyReaperz9 votes

"There are rare occasions that every lane just gets obliterated and the jungle cant do anything"

So its not always the Jg's fault if every lane loses, meaning your above statement is indeed false.

Kilanost1 votes

You're thinking of early S6 when you could AFK farm to eventually out scale the feeding that your laners were doing and solo carry the game.

What kind of stupid logic is that

You're serious aren't you? It's not my job to win your lane. If you're having problems, stop trying to suck off your opponent under their tower while you're behind and wait for me to be around to help. Don't bitch at me for playing like dogshit if it can be prevented. So you might lose some CS getting zoned, but it's better than mindlessly throwing yourself at a countered matchup and feeding.

Learn how the game works.

This. So much this.

Another point to make: if you're wanting ganks, be able to help your jungler do it. If they're shoving, let them shove. Give us some room to work with before they get under tower and it turns into a dive situation. Sure, burning enemy summoner spells is fine, but ultimately you want that and a kill, and probably a tower or other objective on the back side.

The PSA version:

  1. As the JG, I will ping that I am coming to your lane to gank. Check the minimap and see where I am, particularly where I am relative to where you are. If they've warded my path and you know it, tell me. I can find another path to take, particularly to midlane. I often bring control wards to counter their lane wards so I can still get in with little or no warning. If you have CC you would use but it's on CD, that's a good time to say something, especially a good time to ping it so the CD is known. If you've not enough mana to do your combos, this is the time to say something.

  2. Just because I pinged does not mean go ham immediately before I even get there, then flame because you died. You went in too early. Stop that.

  3. If I have to provide all the cc myself because you are playing a champion without it (Katarina comes to mind as an example) and they get away, hopefully we got their flash. If I miss my cc (it can happen unless I'm ulting as Vi), I'm letting them go because I just announced my position and invited a counter gank.

  4. If the gank works and we're going for that tower, that wave is getting shoved. Period. Five or six CS is not going to break your balls over the course of the game. Tower damage or better yet first tower blood is good for you.

  5. If a tower is not the play (example, bot gets ganked but we have few minions) and the move is going, DO NOT BACK. For the love of all that's holy, go help. I've lost count over how many ganks where dragon was the prearranged objective after the gank works. The laners back, so either I have to back or I have to solo it. More often than not, the enemy will react and get that objective before we get back. Even if you're low, just kill the scuttler or grab the honey fruit. Chances are one or both are available.

Some other bits:

A) If you fed your opponent, sorry, your lane is a damn desert. I'm not ganking the fed Draven/Yasuo/Darius/Fiora/Lucian/Talon/etc just to give him more kills because you're already a full IE down from him. I might help you defend your tower from a dive if i'm nearby. Otherwise, that lane was lost by you. Either you were pushed so hard that the enemy jg had to wipe the drool off his lips or you just got gobsmacked in lane repeatedly. Pick one.

B) Control wards. Buy them. Use them. Love them. The life you save will be your own. Particularly for mid laners: Those little river bushes? Great spots for them. They give you more warning.

C) If you just killed your opponent and you only have around 200 hp or so? Back. Yes yes shoving the wave can be good, but otherwise you're a dive waiting to happen. If you're beyond your tower range, you just posted a neon sign stating "Free 300 gold McKillburger for enemy jg/roaming laner here. If you're fast enough, your laner can get assist fries with that."

Ok, done typing for now.

SirΤeemο3 votes

the thing is... if your jungler doesn't gank for 15+ minutes he doesn't have the right "i can't be everywhere" that's just bad . if bot lane just feeds , that's what they are going to do even with ganks ...

FiddlesOnTheRoof3 votes

Another thing no one realizes- if you're getting shit stomped, the least effective thing the jungler can do is gank for you. You're too far behind at that point. He's much better off pressing objectives on the other side of the map.

DunkinNoobs2 votes

The only time I ever blame the jungler is when he's never around when shit goes down, particularly if the enemy jungler is involved. Jungle pathing isn't that hard and tracking the enemy jungler isn't that hard either, so show up to this 3 man bot dive motherfucker.

FreeVolibear7 votes

Tracking the enemy jungler is easy? Sure it is... when you have vision. I don't know how many times I have told a lane to ward a spot, just to be completely ignored bc they either don't watch chat, don't care, or are too busy focusing on cs. Then after they are "surprised" and mowed down by the enemy jungler (most of the time bc I am on the other side of the map uhh jungling) and suddenly it's "OMG REPORT THIS USELESS JUNGLER"... I have 2 trinket wards and a control ward. I mark the obvious spots but I can't ward everything. It's especially a problem if the enemy team starts snaking my jungle buffs/creeps and I have to spend a ward for THAT approach. Bottom line, is that those who complain the most are the least likely to ward or be aware. They are just suddenly angry bc they are not winning lane and want someone to blame. They are neither aware nor do they care to explore anything deeper than csing and fighting champs in lane.

Snowman Arc1 votes

Also, you can't predict jungle paths in bronze. I have even seen, on my smurf, the enemy jungler having no red-side jungle, because I stole it, and them just wait there for the camps to respawn.

Of course, jungling in bronze is very easy. Just ward up the enemy jungle and counterjungle the sht out of them.

Sun Wu Ryuumoku1 votes

Jungle pathing isn't that hard and tracking the enemy jungler isn't that hard either

So it should be easy for U to anticipe his next gank, so U prevent this

DunkinNoobs1 votes

You're often forced to play the 1v1 correctly or play to avoid the gank, especially in top lane. I'll take my chances.
