@Riot: Why Should I Lose Elo Because Of Someone Trolling Then Going AFK??? Not Fair At All!!!

I'm sure everyone's experienced that last promo game in their series to go up in rank and oh! what's this? "A Summoner has left the game." Your fuxking jungler just left or something happened to make them go afk and then nine times out of ten you're gonna lose the match because its basically a 4v5 at that point. Its especially difficult if you were already behind or your team isn't playing together. I play every role and I know how it feels to have someone go AFK and it pisses you the fuxk off. I understand it may not be intentional, don't get me wrong but why should I or other players be punished because someone else left the game for whatever reason. Now there's been a couple of cases where my team was so good that we could lose one person and still be fine but that's very, VERY rare in solo ranked que. Honestly I like remake but it sucks that mid game, you're team is winning, working together, getting good engages, winning team fights, and then someone goes afk. Please riot come up with some type of solution if you can!!!!

There are some obvious problems that would have to be addressed for this idea, but I'm going to look at the other side of this coin.

Are you willing to have what would have been a free (promo) win cancelled because someone on the other team went afk and made the game a 4v5? There are probably multiple decent to good ideas you could create where this doesn't have to happen, but it does seem equally fair to have your wins cancelled as it does your losses.

(Yes, I've had losses due to 4v5s, and yes, they frustrate me, but no, I don't think this is a problem we should expect to see any real work done for.)

True. But, I'm sure you had won some games because the enemy had an afk. So it kind of balances out. :)

Assuming you don't afk, there are 5 people on the enemy team that can afk, only 4 on yours. The likelihood that your team will have the afk is lower.

Overall you'll win more games from people afking, unless you cause people to become afk.

I have the answer to your question OP, but you're not going to like it.

The reason that you still lose Elo is because there isn't another system in place that can prevent it from happening. There isn't a system that is troll proof or AFK proof. Granted, DotA 2 does have a nice feature whereby a game is safe to leave, but even in DotA you are still penalized for the loss in terms of Elo even though you are free to leave the game without further penalty.

The problem is that there's no easy way to identify trolls.. we used to have a decent one with the Tribunal, but it was replaced with an automated system that has proven to be very easily circumvented. Trolling in League has certainly become worse over time because enforcement is only relegated to the most flagrant offenders.
