Idea(s) for Artificially Improving Servers that aren't Korean/Getting them to a Korean Level.

Now if you ask anyone about Korea, they'll tell you that they have the objective best LOL server, second is China, and the rest are really just semantics of place. In my opinion the reason Korean players are so much better is because they focus a lot on self-improvement and continually doing better within games. Now, you can't exactly change the mindset of a whole region, but I feel riot should provide incentives for getting a high rank from previously being low rank, reaching a personal kill/cs score, etc... through quests.

In a perfect world a player placed in Bronze/Silver will get a quest that if they ended Plat+ this season they would receive one rare skin of their choice, of course the problem with this is boosting, that's why I think in order to do this quest players should be able to primary role lock themselves at the beginning of the season and choose to initiate this quest by doing so. This also locks their account from duo-queue and being auto-filled, in exchange for longer queue times and a chance at a rare skin.

I also think the quest system can be used for various other things, such as giving players a certain blue essence reward if they get 8.5+ CS per min, a certain vision score maintained per game, etc... I feel that this in general will create an environment similar to Korean solo queue, where people focus on self-improvement and would in turn make most of the servers as a whole increase in skill, and maybe even leak over to competitive (as I feel solo queue is where the main difference will always lie between NA and KR and LCS and LCK.

As I already understand some critiques people may have with this, I will in turn list them off and tell you my proposed solutions/resolutions, if you have anymore ask away.

  1. Some people worked hard for their rare skins/paid a great sum of money, why would riot give away a valuable skin that other people have payed hundreds for?

Personally, I think the very idea of putting a monetary value on virtual skins is asinine, of course the point of putting the skins in there is BECAUSE they're rare but their rarity can now stem from raising yourself 3 ranks or being consistently one of the best players in the world rather than simply having enough money at a certain time in a certain place on a certain day. If you play the game specifically for skins, you have much bigger problems than other people having said skins.

  1. Your idea doesn't fully take away boosters, someone could just pay a booster of a specific role to get them to said rank.

The fact of the matter is, if someone is going to get boosted they're going to do it no matter, what I believe is that the natural skill increase of the game will make players less inclined to want to be boosted, as these are more just tests of skill and how good YOU personally are, what's the point of paying someone else to be better? Either way, accounts are subject to elo decay, just make it so that someone who participates in the quest has a more violent and more demanding elo decay quota.

  1. _I disagree with your views on solo queue. _

I've asked pretty much every pro who's been to Korea (who streams) and even some people that are currently in Korea (who stream), and they've responded with essentially the same thing, solo queue is the major difference between NA and Korea, NA players are simply less dedicated and willing to self-improve over climbing, therefore they will allow the game to go longer for an artificial amount of time in the hope that the enemy team might throw, I feel that creating quests for CS per-minute will shorten games to a less grotesque length in all elos.

no. people will improve if they want to, placing rewards to do certain things would result in bad playstyles

You mean a worse playstyle than literally inting?

There are rewards for hitting ranked but i think the problem is they kinda stop at gold until you hit challenger. In my opinion Riot owes us nothing for free except a balanced game to the best of their ability which I really think theyre doing. I think a cool idea would be like 100 RP for every division above Gold 5. 100 RP for gold 5 200 for gold 4 300 for gold 3 and on and on. It wouldnt be much for free but hitting diamond would be like 1k RP Riot doesnt need to bend over backwards to reward people for playing their game well but a change like this could at least get a couple gold players some chests or keys and higher ELO could get a skin possibly.

From what I understand when reading about the Korean servers is that they are allowed one account per person, not sure what they call it there, but a social insurance number or something along those lines.

Now on NA server you can make as many accounts as you want, and reading these forums, you see many people talking about smurf accounts.

Pretty standard that to get better, you need to play against better opponents, and if you only have one account, you will always be playing against people that are at a comparable skill level, and offer a challenge to get better.

Now if you have multiple accounts, and I have met people that play an account, grind it to get Gold, Plat, or even Diamond, and just play enough on that account so it does not drop from the chosen rank. The rest of their playing time they jump on a second or third or even fourth account, that is only placed in bronze perhaps Silver and then meet up with players of a Bronze skill set. They will win a good % of their games and feel good about stomping a lower level player, but do they grow as a player skillswise when not being challenged to the fullest?

That is why in my opinion some of the best players come from regions where you can only have one account, you don't have the option to take it easy while playing on a smurf, and you are challenged every game you play to get the win, resulting in a being a stronger player.

But with the one account system comes a less stressful behavior system that's more lenient.

Please elaborate.

Having a one account system makes it more difficult for LOL Korea to ban people for micro-aggressions or passive-aggressive language in behavior while playing, whereas LOL NA and EU will ban you just for being constructive of another player's gameplay. Hurt feelings galore.

I mean, having 2 ping is nice, I myself have on average 20, but I don't think you can really tell the difference at that point or if you can, you have to be looking at such a micro level of play that people rarely do at low elo.

People are not as serious on other servers because in America and the EU we created a participation ribbon culture, people think they're winning at league by simply 'trying' and if they play 'poor' it's just "having a bad game" and "no big deal".

I honestly think the korean servers are the best because their account are bound to their version of their government ID card. It reduces toxicity because if your account gets banned theres no hiding who you are. I may be wrong but I believe china requires a phone number to create an account. I think these security prompts would cut down on boosting and smurfing which, to me, isnt a huge problem other than it lowers the integrity of the ranked queue by a marginal amount.
