Leavers Giving In-Game Exp Boost

I took a 3 year break from League. Did they remove the in-game experience boost that was given when you had teammates leave the game? It was an extremely helpful thing that was really the only way to win a 4v5 match if your opponents knew how to play. Just had 2 teammates leave at levels 7/8 and at the end of the match the enemy team was levels 11/12/12/12/13 and my team were levels 11/12/13. Not sure why Riot would have removed this aspect but I know it didnt seem to be applied to my last game

I can't speak to it personally since I didn't know it was a thing, but there's probably some crazy exploit you could pull as a duo to abuse bonus exp into catch up exp after the second one reconnects.
