I can't seem to win a single game! in need of advice!

Im currently silver 3 this season after returning to league after a ~6 month or so break. I was gold 3 last season so I am playing considerably lower than my usual elo and just can't seem to win. No matter how well our team does laning phase or if we get destroyed laning phase, our mid/late game decisions just crumble and we lose. Im not getting on tilt and am just focusing on my play and not flaming others for their mistakes. I'm not playing on tilt either because even if I take a day off or a week off, still the same outcome... Starting to feel pretty demoralized, would some input from others!

I found Season 6 to be very different than past seasons. I can't really put my finger on any one factor (there are plenty of hypothesis on the boards), but I also had a really hard time getting used to it. I fell from Gold V to Bronze 2.

I would play normals until things even out for you, then head back into ranked. A side bonus will be if you do well in normals, your MMR will increase thus making the LP grind easier.

HTH. :)

They changed the system to where leagues are harder to get into. Meaning gold games are like plat games from last season

Season 6 changed the game quite a bit, games end quicker meaning if your playstyle was to rely on late game teamfighting, you probably won't get to that stage before the enemy snowballs. For me, it completely fucked over my champion pool and I've spent a long time learning new champs to fit in this meta.

I can't go into massive detail, so I'll just drop some tips that have paid me dividends.

  1. Fuck the meta, play the champions you enjoy playing, and ban that champs counterpicks. I play Darius myself, I pick him all the time, and I don't ban Ekko because I know I can dumpster him in lane. Instead I ban Trundle, because Trundle is a nightmare to play against as Darius.

  2. Be a god at farming. If you can farm better than your opponents, you can reliably gain advantages in every game, regardless of matchup, if you can farm well.

  3. Towers > Everything. Towers are what get your team pressure, global gold and get your team closer to the Nexus. Always look for ways to catch towers undefended and crush them, either by rotating with your team or cheeky splitpushing.

  4. Understand the team comps. At the most general level , ask yourself this questions: Who has the stronger carries? If they do, your team has to dive the backline and focus the carries, if your team has the stronger carries, then peel for them and let them do their job.

  5. Don't Support. I'm sorry, but supporting at low ELO is a game of chance where you have little agency over the outcome, unless you're some Diamond-level support who can carry dumb teammates, you won't be able to baby poor players enough. Play literally any other role and look to carry by any means.
