Why are new champs allowed in ranked?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Seriously allowing new champs in ranked for the first couple of weeks completely ruins the game... People either have to waste a ban to stop teammates from playing a champ that they have no reason playing in ranked and probably haven't even playing in normal or risk having a terrible teammate therefore leaving op picks available because of the wasted ban... What is the sense in letting people play champs they have no experience with in ranked the day they come out...

You know, posts like these show up every time a champion is released.

Maybe RIot should post a public announcement on why new champions are allowed. Even if there are valid reasons, it'd be nice if they explained it to the curious.

You have a 60% chance to have your choice of ban. Use it, and ask for new champions to be banned the other 40% of the time. Most likely it'll get banned 80% of the time and not even picked much of the remainder.

You shouldn't have to ban a champ solely because people don't know how to play him and will screw the game over before it starts by picking said champion... and in my cases at least the champion has been played at least 75 percent of the time it hasn't been banned and that's being generous and every game the player has fed and been the sole reason an enemy champion has ended up fed and won the game by him/herself. In many of those games they were banned it left open a champion that actually is ban worthy. Not to mention the other 100 percent of the time they lock in as there desired pick and it gets banned and they say you banned my champ I'm going to troll or afk.

Literally the next game lobby after writing this post kid locks in desired pick as sol and someone on our team bans, he then goes on to pick the junglers desired pick as shaco mid just to troll for him banning... No idea why I play this game anymore lol.

P.S. 11 minutes wasted because I sat in que for that long just to have someone dodge and I was forced to leave to not be in the same lobby with this child.

I was the one banning Sol, explaining to our Top (who intended to pick Sol) that Sol had a vision bug. So naturally our Top decides the reasonable thing to do is declare his intention to feed and lock in Teemo. I'm calm about the whole thing, and say I believe he can still play normally.

In game he decides to not "feed", but certainly not be very helpful. He comes into my lane (mid) and steals as much CS as he can. I ignore it mostly, and the two of us manage to get the tower down in a pretty quick manner. He proceeds to build full tank, only half trying the entire game.

He got a team full (probably more with the other team) worth of reports, but I don't hold a hope for his temper tantrum being punished.

It will never be addressed because there is absolutely no valid reason. They want money and for people to buy and play the champs with skins and it wouldn't be as desirable if you couldn't play it in ranked straight away. It just ruins games and causes issues with teams before the game even starts. Even if someone is amazing with the champ no one has a real way to plan to coordinate with the champ because it hasn't been out long enough for people to have gameplay experience with them either on or against them. It's all about money and as long as they are making it they won't bat an eye.

allowed or not, the person who is dumb enough to pick aurelion sol with no experience is probably dumb enough to keep fighting the 3/0 zed he fed earlier rather than stay passive under tower or roam to make an impact.

if someone is stupid enough to play something they have no experience on they probably are going to be dead weight no matter who they play. disabling aurelion sol or any new champ for the first few weeks makes little difference.

I agree but you assume said person wasn't gonna pick an old champ he's never played and feed regardless.

The only thing I can't stand is losing your role to someone who doesn't main it. They only took it to play the new champ.
