How to decrese toxicity in League

Hey everyone I just came up with an idea how I think this would help decresing toxicity in League of Legends.

  1. At the end of the match when you honor people you should get a small portiont of EX 40-70.
  2. If you gain a certain amount of honor points, you should get a skin, or a special emote.

These are the ways I came up who may help to decrase toxicity. :P [sg-shisa]

you already get honor capsules and such randomly for getting honor, but honestly people only honor you if you're good/carry the game.. noone actually honors for good behavior..

I honor the one that didn't flame on the entire team.

Honor = meaningless. You can go from honor 5 to honor 0 for super silly things and with absolutely no hesitation based on the history of your account.

As for EXP: that again means nothing to players. Genuinely most players have played LoL for years now, gaining additional EXP for honoring (I'll talk about that next.) isn't going to make people want to honor more or less because it's meaningless. Leveling up is meaningless.

People only honor people who perform exceedingly good.

If you want to reduce toxicity you can:

  1. Stop punishing people for responding to trolls and put in a system to help people manage them.

  2. Stop trying to 'erase the internet personality.' You are NEVER going to be able to manage what everybody says or does. Give it up, you aren't the gestapo's you're running an online game. Chill, let people use gay innuendos without literally banning them for 2 weeks because Jimmy had an Asthma attack about the fart joke you just made. Some of LoL most MEMORABLE videos and animations use this type of content and they use it well, why in the hell can we NOT use it in the game? LoL has even SPONSORED these animations years ago. It's like Pepsi saying they don't want to put ads on a video to take advantage of negative consequences, then natural disasters hits and **bam **Pepsi commercials once every 3-5 minutes good day.

  3. Punish people for ruining games, don't punish people for acting like idiots unless if it becomes extreme. It's easier to be banned for talking than it is actually trolling, hell, players feel powerless in situations like this because why the fuck risk even talking to somebody in this game? Just use mute all until you can receive all the flame and torture in the lobby screen while you're looking at and reading graphs.

Make a frustrating system and you get frustrated people, frustration is what makes anger and discontent between players.

Yeah, just let the game burn and give all the power to trolls. That will surely reduce toxicity.

That's a nice strawman you've got there, Have you tried the mute button?

If muting actually stopped toxic people from being toxic. Or actually punished them or didn't let me read whatever toxic nonsense they typed that caused me to mute them in the first place

The English makes it really difficult to understand what you're saying.

If what you're saying is that you are avoiding toxic environment by using the mute button, that is an affirmative. You don't have the liberty to silence people you don't agree with but you have the opportunity and all the chances in the world to not listen to them. When you're unable to not listen then it becomes a problem.

the English here makes this impossible to read. If you mean that muting does nothing at all then yes you are correct!

Yep I went from lvl 4 to 0 because I called someone useless (and he was 0/9 jungler that kept invading enemy jungle)

I think it would actually make more sense to let you rate everyone on your team for their behavior, as opposed to just choosing one. Instead of having to decide whether to choose the nice person or the person carrying the team, both could receive credit. Also, knowing that everyone could give honor to everyone would make people a lot more likely to take honor seriously.

if you're honoured it means you were never toxic in the first place but still I like the sound of those rewards.
