Were towers underbalanced recently?

Towers seem to have garbage range and do no damage. The amount of times I've had the enemy successfully poke me multiple times safely while I was behind my tower is just ridiculous. The amount of times I've been dived by the enemy while I am attacking them as well as tower hitting them while they proceed to kill me then walk out of tower successful is just ridiculous.
