Bronze for Life??

Ok, so about a month ago I did my 10 qualifiers. I won 8 out of 10 as leona. My ranking ranged from A- to S+ on the victories and Either two b's or a b and a c on the loses. My last years ranking was kind of poor, I ended in bronze 4 or 5. So this year I practiced more and worked on my core skills. Landing skill shots, map awareness and warding....lots of warding XD Last year when I did my qualifiers I won...maybe 5 out of my 10 matches. This placed me in bronze 2. Unfortunately after that I went into solo que a few to many times and lost my rank really quickly. I now know that this was a horrible mistake on my part. Now back to the present! So after wining my last match I was fairly excited! I mean heck, compared to last year I showed a lot of improvement! Again, I won 8 out of 10 matches. However when I saw my ranking...well my opinion changed. I was ranked in at bronze 5. After doing some research I found out how the ranking system works to some degree. I know that your last years rank and the end game ranking matters. But under what circumstance does 8 out of 10 amount to bronze 5? I have friends who lost 6 out of 10 matches or even worse and still ended up higher then me! In what way is this system balanced? Well I wanted to know the answer to said question. The 2016 Season is a fresh start for everyone who plays ranked games. Your last season's performance carries weight, along with your placement matches, but this doesn't necessarily mean you will be placed in the same division you ended in last season.

We made some changes to the Leagues system this season that should allow players to more quickly reach the League that appropriately reflects their skill level. So, even if you didn't place in the division you expected, it's important to remember that this is your starting point for the season, not your final destination.

So I decided to play a few more matches. Figuring that this new system would hopefully move me up a bit. Mind you I'm playing Support. So my character doesn't typically carry a match. But I can usually get my adc quite the number of kills as shown in my match history link. But this doesn't matter when someone goes afk or starts to feed hard. So I messaged League about this. I mean after being in bronze 5 for a few weeks and constantly losing my qualifiers....well I started to question this new system. So I again went to Riot support seeking answers.

I do apologize for any inconvenience that this placement may have caused. I know that this isn't what you expected after winning 8 out of 10 games. I would also feel the same if it would happen to me. Unfortunately, it's not possible for me to reset or adjust League Point values or matchmaking rating, or to change a player's current League. Our system was set up this way to prevent abuse. Ratings do adjust quickly, but teaming up with a friend can help accelerate your return to the appropriate skill level.

This basically told me that my only real way out was to duo with my friends. Well that's kind of my problem now. I work over nights. Most of my friends work during the day. So playing with them is a little hard. Now mind you when I do play with them it's even harder. Most of my friends were gold and high silver last year. Playing with them for me isn't hard, but sometimes we pull lower bronze players into high silver matches and well, you see the issue here. I might not be heavy, but one or two unskilled players feeding High silver players....well it gets bad really quickly. After so many tries I finally moved up to bronze 4. Since then I've won 1 match and lost 2 or 3. Each loss was due to an afk or intentional feeder. Idk what to so about these situations. I don't surrender which I hear helps my LP loss. My team mates refused to group and in the end it simply didn't matter what I did. Also our jungler wasn't sated until like 8 minutes before the enemy team won.

I managed to kill him 2 or 3 times before he wandered down to mid and got his first kill. Mind you he was beating me in cs. ( again I main support ) After that one kill it no longer mattered. He steam rolled hard and won with ease. Constantly winning fights and just forcing everyone out of lane. Everyone did fine in lane and no one really had any issues until Yasuo got his first kill. After that he hyper carried the game for them. I admit I was generally upset over these matches so I, again, sent in a ticket to Riot. Mind you these matches are what's keeping me from promoting...over and over and OVER! Weeks wasted just trying to get out of bronze 5. Quick note, I'm not asking them to change my rank. I know they can't change my rank or anything like that. I simply wanted some level or justification as to why a situation like mine has happened.

It's not possible for me to reset or adjust League Point values or matchmaking rating, or to change a player's current League. Our system was set up this way to prevent abuse. As a fellow player, I completely understand where you're coming from as I myself have played with those kinds of players numerous times. Yeah! It is truly upsetting and surely takes out the fun. Trust me, we here are trying our best to eliminate those kind of behaviors and a matter of fact, we've been implementing new systems lately to discourage players to troll or throw games.

For now, if you feel that we need more improvements to the system, I strongly suggest to post your ideas on our forums. That way, you can have our fellow summoners' opinions to back you up. Also, our team is always checking out our forums to look for feedback like this one.

The entire time I'm sending these tickets Riot support is being 100% professional and helping to the best of there abilities. They gave me advice to duo que and explained how the ranking system works. Now I'm taking Mojo Jojo's advice. I'm opening a forum and hoping to find a few players that I can reliably duo with. I'm also looking for other players in oddly similar situations. I'd love to hear your stories and maybe someone out there can help come up with a better solution to Riot's ranking system.

I went from 8 and 10 to 23 and 19. T-T Sorry if some of this was me complaining, but it feels nice to get this off of my chest. I really hope this thread helps in some way XD
