i was playing a normal game at a silverish elo except for one thing there jungler was diamond highest in game outside of him G5 hes fucking diamond how the hell does that even happen it made it anti fun for everyone and ruined the game for 5 people with the 0 potential to even come close to winning wee shouldnt be placed with a diamond in a silver elo game to top it off he flamed BM in all chat at every kill

that needs to be fixed there cant be people 3 entire division about the average and still think it will be fair

Peoples normal elos are different than their ranked elo. Plenty of diamond players who there with near 'starting' elo in normals which is roughly silver simply since they almost never player normals.

Also people can queue with anyone regardless of elo in normals, since normals are meant to be a more laid back experience where you can screw around with friends. And if someone happens to have a high ranking friend despite being bronze/silver, then mixed elo games are going to be a thing.

If you just want to play people around your skill level, that's what ranked is for.

A lot of high-elo players don't play normals, which run off a different ranking system known as "mmr" opposed to rank's "elo". Considering how the base or beginning mmr for players are about equal to mid-silver elo, my only guess is that diamond hadn't played normals much this season.

Or...Dynamic Queue because of it's incredibly stupid matchmaking system when there are unbalanced premades

(They both actually do use MMR, people just use the terms elo and mmr interchangeably since they work similarly. It's just that you have one mmr for ranked, another mmr for normals, and another for arams, and another for each RGM, and so on, so one could theoretically have a diamond mmr for ranked, a silver mmr for normals, a bronze mmr for arams, and so on since mmr's aren't linked between modes.)
