why do i lose more lp for losing than i gain for winning?

let me start with saying that win/loss is actually positive in ranked. i'm at 51% which isn't amazing or anything i am just confused as it wasn't always like this.

i used to get like 23lp for winning games, while losing around 15 for losing, which was okay. i felt like i could climb the ladder. these days though it the opposite, i lose around 21lp a game, while only gaining 17lp when winning. this is confusing, it makes climbing extremely difficult, because if i win a game, and then lose a game, i am worse off than i was previously. i want to get back to gold before the season ends but it wasn't nearly as difficult last season as it is this season. i made it to gold 1 last season (into promos twice) so i don't think my mmr is that bad, could anybody explain this to me? thank you.

If you basically don't keep up a solid 3 wins for every 5 matches played it will get harder to climb. If you just go 50/50 with your games the system will think that's where you belong. So until you start winning more than you lose, it will assume you're where should to be and give you less LP. Last week I went on a winning streak of 8 games and started to only get 24 LP per win and 15 LP per loss. I climbed from gold 5 to gold 2 in 2 days.
