Clarification Request - Fervor of Battle - Ability/Item Interactions

  • MELEE MATTERS: Melee attacks now grant double stacks of Fervor
  • SPELLING IT OUT: Hitting an enemy champion with an ability grants 2 stacks (2 second cooldown)

I was wondering about a few interactions.

For enchanced-autoattacks which apply on-hit effects multiple times such as Evelynn's Ravage, Renekton's Ruthless Predator and Shyvana's Twin-Bite, will it count as an ability use (two stacks), a single basic attack (2 stacks), or generate stacks on each hit (4 stacks).

For ranged abilities which apply on-hit effects, will it generate 2 stacks for hitting an ability or 1/2 (ranged/melee) stacks for attacking an enemy champion. This is in regards to abilities such as Gangplank's Parrrley and Ezreal's Mystic Shot.

Do Jax's W and R-passive count separately from his autoattacks for generating stacks? For example, if I hit someone with either W and R-passive on a basic attack, would that generate 4 stacks?

For Kayle's E-enchanced basic attacks, will the bonus damage (on-hit, splash, or both) generate stacks? If so, would it count for each champion hit (i.e. if the splash damage hits 2 champions and your target, would that generate 6 stacks)?

It seems fairly safe to assume that Fizz's W-enhanced autoattacks will generate 4 stacks on each hit (2 for the basic attack and 2 for the spell), but it would be nice to have the confirmed.

How will stack generation interact with Runaan's Hurricane and/or Sated Devourer? Are the stacks an on-hit effect (stacks generated per on-hit application) or an on-attack effect (stacks generated per basic attack performed)?

How will stack generation interact with DoTs which apply on-spell effects such as Brand's passive, Malzahar's Malefic Visions, etc? [Not really important, but I'm curious]

How does this work for AoE abilities? Do you get stacks for hitting a champion with the ability or stacks per champion hit?

Thanks for anyone who takes the time to clarify these. I appreciate it.

Right now, those can't be answered without testing on the PBE. There are a couple different ways the mastery could gain its stacks that would influence those, and there will likely be special coding for it to prevent stupid interactions.

For example, if the stacking is an on-hit effect and a spell effect, Jax, could gain six stacks with a single auto-attack - two from the attack, two from his W, and two from his R. Additionally, if it's a spell effect, Kayle could gain all 10 stacks at once if she hit four people with the AoE of her E.
