Can we agree that Illaoi needs nerfed?

When I first started watching Illaoi games, she seemed really op. Her moves stack REALLY well, she can zone like nobody's business, and heals more than her opponent can do to her. So, I played some games in hopes of going against an Illaoi to see just how hard she was to play against and was quickly frustrated with playing top lane. I thought, Nasus could be a good counter since he can just feed in her tentacles, but she does so much damage early game, it didn't matter. It was impossible to farm because she spawns tentacles so often and getting hit by just one takes a lot of health, and if you get your spirit pulled you have 2 options: stay and fight and take a shit ton of damage, or run, become a vessel, and probably get hit by the tentacles that have a buggy hit box and still take a shit ton of damage. I've watched so many games with Illaoi and I've never seen her do poorly; at worst, she has an average game. I just watched a game where she was 3-2, and the enemy team engaged her in a team fight (4v1) and she almost killed two of them. The only reason those champs survived was because they flashed away...that should NEVER happen. Her ult plus the amount she heals is too good of a combination and teams can't compete against that.

Maybe I just don't know how to fight her, but one thing is for sure, she is way too strong and needs nerfed. I think this champ is perpetuating the thought that people should only be playing ADCs and assassin champs. Most melee champs and mages are obsolete, This game can't be fixed by creating another op champ to counter the previous op champ you just made; I think they need to work out the balancing issues that are occurring.

Anyway, I digress. Illaoi is overwhelmingly op and league needs to take a good long look at how to fix her.

We can agree to disagree

Every time she wins a game it feels like it's because the enemy team is actively trying to take as much damage as possible from all her abilities. Trying to run out of range of the tentacles instead of merely stepping to the side during that super long animation, standing out in the open where her E can hit them, not bothering to destroy tentacles that spawn within range of them, ignoring the fact that she just ulted and standing in the middle of a pile of AS boosted tentacles...

Somehow people understand that heimer turrets and zyra plants deal damage and should be avoided, but they see a little spell effect fly out of Illaoi and spawn a giant tentacle and think "Eh, I probably don't have to worry about that thing"

She's supposed to be another juggernaut, but she does a loss of damage too. I personally think she should have lower ratios but higher base health and maybe health regen.

Currently, her tentacles deal 10-180(based on level)+ 120/130/140/150/160% AD. I'd love to see this lowered to 120% at all ranks.

Harsh Lesson also has a cooldown of 6/5.5/5/4.5/4. For laning phase and late game, a static cooldown of 5 would be great too.

Nasus DOES work, I play Nasus a lot and went up against an Illaoi a few days ago, and did extremely well.

How did you build Nasus? Also you need to have her push to your lane and stay behind your minions because she will not be able to land her E. And if she does drop your E on her and hit her with a Q to have her back off.

I don't find that she really needs a nerf - just that people don't really know how to play against her. The ad ratio on her tentacles are high yes but since she has to be in the fray she typically ends up building more tanky than damage. My advice is to try playing as her - you'll quickly see that she's not op as you seem to think.

Maybe I just don't know how to fight her,

Learn how to fight her. Her biggest counter? DODGE. She literally can't do anything good if she can't hit you. No utility, no peel, no CC. She is useless without her tentacles, and her ult NEEDS you to stand in it. Q may have a slightly weird hit box, but that can't do that much on it's own.

I had a SUPPORT Illoai blow me up as a full build tank Sejuani before I could even react. I wish I had control over my team's bans every game so I never had to play against her again.

the only way i would change her is to make her e less punishing

even if its a very awkward skillshot which gets blocked by minions, you either get 40% of your health shreded or you get the debuff if you dont want to take damage. (this ofcourse accourses in a more grouped teams scenario, in lane you can fight back, if you are not melee ofc)

And when you get this debuff you have to wait until it runs out, or destroy 3 tentacles. This wouldnt be so bad if these tentacles wouldnt spawn all 10 secs.

This pretty much denies you from doing anything for the next 30 secs, and you either miss the opportunity to get a good teamfight going on or you miss 1 or 2 minionwaves in lane.

Her e is just a bad designed skill. Its like Vladimirs whole kit: Nerf or Buff one thing and it will be op or up.
