I've gotten at least 20 honors over the past couple days and I still haven't even hit the 1st checkpoint on the default level 2, where the fuck am I in terms of Honor? I have no idea...
Some speculate that there's no progress bar because that would lead players towards grinding honor for the sake of rewards and not doing it out of their own character. Even more so for those who are Honor.
If you're a good person, people will let you know.
Riot said that they haven't and won't add a level bar for honors in order to prevent players from simply grinding it like XP.
I can get behind this. I currently have no idea if I'm even anywhere close to reaching checkpoint 1 of honor level 4. It's a little bit sad to not know how much further you have to go. :(
I expected this to happen, so I am keeping records of my Honour points in an Excel document. ~1155 Honours total, including from premades, so far this season. There is the occational delay on receiving them, so I might have left the lobby too soon sometimes to get them all recorded.
I am marking out every checkpoint to get an estimate of games and honours needed between them. I am also noting the number of "Everyone on your team honored a teammate! You got a little extra Honor progress this game.", and what sort of Honour I get (Friendly / Calm / Leadership) and who "was the most honorable player on your team".
Received my second Honour level 5 orb a few days ago (which is basically Honour level 5, checkpoint 2), and am currently about 1/5 on my way to the next one. But seriously, the Honour system is overrated - the rewards feels...acceptable (no more, no less), but nothing to celebrate. Some BE and some Hextech keys, and that's about it.
I wish honor would be about the game and not about chat.
In fact we have ranked, so honor is garbage anyway.
Being nice to everyone and never telling people things they don't want to hear is just so misplaced in a competitive game... not only misplaced but unrealistic.
Same the reasoning they gave is meh. With the rewards not feeling good and the honor progress feeling forcibly slowed, i rather see an exp bar. It seems like it takes a month before each honor goes up and that feels bleh.
