So I for one am getting extremely tired of not being able to use the chat feature in league of legends. The reporting system is way out of hand right now and it needs to be taken under control. I just got out of a game where my Darius fed a riven 5 kills in the first 10 minutes of the game (keep in mind this is ranked) and I finally spoke up saying "At what point do we get to report Darius?" that was the first thing i had said all game. Instantly after that darius and his duo partner master yi start going off on me how im being negative and that im not doing anything for the team while we are 10 minutes into the game and I am 1/2 as Ashe in the bottom lane with me support thresh. Darius and Yi constantly harassed me until the end of the game, in which riven went 25/7 single handedly fed ever ylane after having her way with darius, and at the end game lobby screen i instantly get the message saying that i have been reported for verbal abuse. This is a nearly every game occurrence at this point in LoL. I have been playing for 4 years now and I can easily say without a doubt that the report system is ruining the game for me. Not only have I been chat banned for having multiple instances such as this occur but instead of rewarding people with honors at the end of a game and not honoring those who decided to flame and be unsportsmanlike, the system has been changed to who is getting reported and who is not getting reported. Nobody is giving out honors anymore and the system isn't working like it should be. Sure people are getting chat banned limiting there trash talk but that is also limiting their communication in the game resulting in even further frustration and tilt from said players and their teammates whom they cant communicate with. I believe that the mute button was the only feature that needed to be installed into the LoL chat feature to close out flamers yet since there is a report button nobody even uses the mute feature and instead choose to listen to players rage all game just so they have some sort of "proof" that they were raging the whole game when (not if) they report someone. Back in Season 2 i remember people talking trash just as much as current day players there is no stopping it its going to happen if you have a chat feature in the game it is going to happen. Honestly in a real world situation you can't just report someone such as your boss or your parents or girlfriend from verbally abusing you from time to time when you mess up, so why is it such a priority in this game? The reporting system as it stands weakens the community as a whole by making it a very negative aspect of the game that is completely dominant over another positive one (honors). And I know like nobody is going to read this and especially this far but these are my concerns about the game and the community as it is now I actually used to enjoy being able to throw witty banter back and forth with strangers as if it was a recreational sport but now doing so will put me on chat ban and honestly it makes me nervous to purchase anything for the game in fear that someday my account will be permanently banned and I will lose years of money invested into it. And it's easy enough to respond to this with the thought of "well just dont talk to people" or "dont verbally abuse people" but if we are trying to move the game forward in the world and make it a bigger and bigger esport then something about this will have to change. All sports are mental games and this one is no different I am a collegiate athlete and can vouch for how important it is to keep a cool head at all times when playing a game. But at the same time there are instances when allied players need to be reprimanded by someone on their own level and not someone like a coach (riot) and there isn't a penalty for that in an actually sport so why would you take that out of esports? also mentally playing games with the other team to put them on tilt is an ancient strategy thats been played upon probably since the dawn of ciivlization. By not being able to verbally reprimand allied players, and taking psychological factors of playing against other real human beings, League of Legends is being limited to just an esport when it could rise to be a cultural phenomenon the likes of which we have yet to see in the video game world. It is no longer a social platform where you can meet strangers in your matches and leave feeling challenged mentally by their words, it is being flattened into just a cold hearted game with no soul that is swirling into a black hole of negativity instead of flying high into the great beyond. I only wish for my voice to be heard by a few as I have recently been trying to persuade people to honor or not honor players instead of reporting them. If you read this far thank you for your time. honestly, I'm having the exact same problem. apparently the only way to not get restricted since the tribunal is RIP, is to not talk at all and suck everyone's dick regardless. The community, low elo community, are such babies that anything you say at all that isn't dick-sucking positivity is taken as offensive.

Wow, that's a wall of text. My advice would be to not say things that could be taken as an insult. Things can get out of hand fast.

The 'unskilled player' report should outright bann a player account for three days. Then 6 days, then 12...

I hate the stacking that chat and leaver buster have. It's absolutely unjustified.

Being one of the most toxic ragers, I have been chat banned so much and haven't had fun in a really long time playing this game. I honestly just don't get how people get to gold, plat, diamond and still suck so hard. It gets so bad that I will even cause my team to lose the game if I think they deserve it or if they do something stupid. Basically my mentality is if you want to act like a complete asshat and do stupid stuff, fine stay in this Elo.. I'll get out of it later.

Like I said though I haven't had fun in this game in months doing this. So I decided yesterday that I would duo with someone who I know can hold his own in lane and I can jungle and snowball everyone else. I've found playing with a duo buddy keeps me from purposely losing first off, because I don't want him to be punished. Secondly I keep my mouth shut no matter how hard the feeders feed and rage. We played 5 games in a row and I had so much fun every single game as we carried 3 bads every... single... game. 5 wins in a row.

Coincidence? Maybe. It was just nice to have fun in this game for once in the last year.

I got a two week ban yesterday for calling my botlane bad. This games community absolutely cannot handle or accept anything that can remotely be described as criticism.
