WHAT IS THE BEST ROLE TO CARY SOLO QUE WITH?

MonkeyMarksman13·12/7/2015, 5:15:45 AM·1 votes·1,215 views

Hi guys, I was wondering what role I should invest the most time with. I mostly play adc and jg champs for norms and ranked. Is this the best way to climb the ladders? Should I be playing a different role? What could I do to practice?

Please let me know below thanks :)

Whatever you're best at! :D

You see, carrying isn't about doing the most damagez or getting the most kills (although those help), it's about doing the best you can to aid your team!

For example:

You're playing support Braum. Now, are you going to babysit your ADC and be a ward bot? If that's what you're good at, then be great at it! But if you want to take a step further, learn how much power a support brings to a team, and utilize different strategies to aid your team. Encourage your ADC to use the blue trinket! Gank a lane solo or with the jungler (I mean, cc is cc, amiright?), ward offensively/defensively, remind your teammates to ward because of the ward limits! Participate in teamfights! Buy utility items as well as tank items! Pinsir the enemy with your ultimate (bonus points if you catch Yasuo offguard)!

The possibilities are endless! Think there's only one way to play every role! Whelp, if that's all you can do then you're right, but if you think you can do more then you're wrong! Er, about the playing roles in one way, mind you!

I have personally had a lot of success in the jungle. It's currently my favorite and most played role, and I feel like people just tend to listen to your calls more if you're in the jungle. Plus, the global map presence accomplishes many things: objective control, counterjungling, getting lanes ahead, helping struggling lanes, etc.

Basically, if you're a good jungler, as long as your team doesn't feed before you finish your first clear you can usually help whoever needs help. I would also say that bruiser type champs are the best, I've recently come to love Pantheon and Hecarim as they can just be so strong even if you build mostly tanky. Also, Amumu can carry hard with just one AP item like a item 3151 . Seriously, try it.

I do agree it's whatever role you are best at. I tend to do best myself at jungle or top. So I'd always try to get those roles. As jungler it's easy to influence lanes and help other team mates but the drawback too is they blame you when they doing bad whether you have ganked for them 100 times or no times. Honestly just find a few champions you enjoy playing, get good with them, then play them in ranked

I climbed from Silver 4 to Gold 1 just as Nami, so in my experience, Nami Supp is the best way to climb.

Imo support and jungle are the best roles to carry. Specifically team play oriented champs in those roles (sorry yi and brand).

As support do everything in your power to abuse your opponents mistakes and alleviate your adcs. You'd be surprised how well even bad adc players can perform when you don't let them die.

As jungle you have a few options, since I've already advised team play champions you have cc in your kit. Once you have cc you can gank every lane as opportunities arise, camp your losing lane or camp your winning lane. Make sure to get drag/scuttle/herald whenever it's low risk

Play when you are alert, don't hesitate to pause between games, don't forget that you can't concentrate forever, and if you start losing after 10 consecutive games, you might just be tired and making bad decisions. When I'm tired, I still get kills but I just fail at carrying the game, because I enter in some kind of a "inattentional blindness" ! This might looks like nothing, but I think it's important and worth mentioning.

Bascially, this has MANY different levels of answers.

  1. You will find people that they said they went from silver to plat with AD TF Jungle. Doable? absolutely...but tougher than Jax jung right now? ...of course.

  2. Depending on what elo you are talking about will also determine what role is more "carry" worthy. I find that in lower elo's, if your bot lane can carry (like they should), it should be an easy win....However, in higher elo's, bot lanes are not as important as a good mid player. Or even a good jungler.

  3. I would say that from Bronze-Gold, just play the lane that is fun to you. After that, then try and pick a lane you seem more dominant in and roll with it. Unfortunately, until Ranked Team Builder comes out or you become pro, you might not get the lane you want, so it's really best to just be "efficient" with every lane.

Mid/JG/ADC Top if you get fed and roam.

most top challengers are ADC mains I believe.

The simple answer is: whichever one you're best with. Seriously. I main support and jungle, which I think is fairly hard to carry from (especially support) but it's where I contribute most to the overall team's win (or loss).

Beyond that, adc and mid are the typical answers. ADCs, with good positioning, can kill much of the enemy team. APCs can kill most ADCs in return. In both cases, you're able to not just win a lane but snowball other lanes and/or disrupt another fed lane. Top and jungle are okay, but you have to play more carry-oriented champs and that leaves you very prone to bans and counterpicks to prevent you from snowballing early game (and those types of champs generally are best early & mid game only).

Play FOTM champs. Jungle.

Drackolus12/7/2015, 6:26:55 PM1 votes

Jungle. You have influence on every lane. You should be strong at multiple roles, and if you're best roles are jungle and support than you'll get one of your roles 90% of games.
