Sivir's "Spell Shield" vs Leona's "Zenith Blade"

Why is it, that if I spell shield her zenith blade, it still snares me, and then brings her to me?

Because it spell shields the damage, which procs before the root does

Hmm...well, to be honest, I find that to be wanky. It should be coded together, like a Morgana snare, or Braum's q, etc.

Try Sivir shield's against Swain hand that grabs you and you will see how funny it is.

I'm going to quote the EXACT wording from the sivir E: "Creates a magical barrier** that blocks a single enemy ability cast on sivir**. She receives mana back if a spell is blocked" So from the wording it should stop a leo snare and damage, but maybe let leo go to siv, not to sure on that one

same reason it blocks caits trap damage but not the snare.

cait's traps does not deal damage btw, it's the headshot afterwards that deals damage.

I think it is because its similar to nautilus q, except naut has an extra cc.

Leona's goes damage -> stun (damage gets blocked) Nautilus' goes damage -> stun -> knock-up (or back?)

Which is why you can't rocket jump buffer naut q as tristana, because it is 2-part and knocks her out of it. I'd say if naut q still cc's you at some point as a spellshielding sivir, then leona should too, and vice versa. I don't play either of the champs and don't know how it is intended to work though, could just be a wonky bug or interaction.

Yeah, but Nautilus' Q should work just like Threshes. If I spell shield his hook, that's end of story. Any snare/latch or whatever, should be coded to be a part of the damage. Not buffered so you don't take damage, but still get cc'ed. Hell, if anything do it the other way. I'd much rather take damage nearly every time and not get cc'ed.

do you have a video about this? because im pretty sure she doesnt snare you but is actually just displaced to you like when she snares you. which i consider weird because naut's Q and thresh's Q does not bring them to you.

if then, it still snare you well you have to wait the snare, then use spell shield to block her E.
