Season 7 is the season of stupid supports

So this season is probably the most I have ever seen off-meta supports, ever. I either lose because my team has a stupid off-meta, or the enemy team has an off-meta and my team doesn't know how to fight it. I play mid and top and I leave my winning lane to help and all the sudden I'm super negative, and all my LP is gone in a day. Example, I went Jhin adc is ranked and I had this wonderful support: . He fed 13 kills in 10 minutes. Then I play Talon mid. And the enemy support? . I was 5/0 in under 10 minutes and had half my build completed when I notice the enemy kog'maw is 10/0. This season is so stupid.

I stayed optimistic and tried playing Taric through the first half of the season. As his win rate drops, I'm just giving up. Fighting AP carries bottom is just miserable as a melee support tank. Riot said they would make changes if they got forced out and nothing has been done about it.

My main is a support melee champ with a solo laner's power curve. So I'm useless against AP early, mediocre mid game and useless against BC and LW late game.

I'm saddled with generic support items that anyone can take and doesn't make my kit anymore effective than my opponent.

Being a support main feels super bad when taking my champion Top is the only way I can be effective.

I reached Gold with him so far and I just can't enjoy going bot with him at the moment.

The supports are doing too much damage. A Sona and Lulu can easily out trade me as an ADC early on.

well, except from a few cases, every mage with a hard CC can outclass most support champions so no suprise here...

We've reached a weird meta where every position REQUIRES a good deal of damage. Pure supports can't keep up and become a liability in SoloQ. Organized play might be a little different, but SoloQ is so insanely aggressive, you are a liability if you don't bring offense.

Tanks even have to deal damage or they aren't viable.

Moves were made to reduce damage but... I have no idea how to take damage rush out of bot lane.

I hovered Trundle support earlier today. Team: "WTF, pick a support." (>_>)

Enemy team picks Draven/Morgana, ADC picks Twitch. I know Draven out-trades Twitch early game and Morg invalidates Trundle, so I switch to Yorik. Team: "WTF, Yorik is useless." (>_>)

Lane phase, Twitch keeps forcing wave under enemy turret, Eating Draven's AA's, and dropping jungler bait. By the glory of a 20 second CD Jarvin ult (That Black shield can't ignore), I manage to keep him alive for the first ~8 minutes. Then he dies. Team: "You can't even peel." (>_>)

I spend mid game throwing monsters wave bot with my ~~Free Banner of Command~~ Ult. Manage to Drop almost 2 turrets (Equivalent), in addition to picks and peels with the Jarvin ult. Enemy Draven AFK's effectively ending the game. Enemy team: "Lucky 4v5" Ally team: "4v4. Yorik didn't do anything." ( O ____ O )

I fully concede, I do a lot of strange/stupid crap. But that's not an excuse to put blinders on. I don't just pull these things out of the Sheep's handbook. I know what I'm doing ~~most of the time~~. (T_T)

Of course. Having gotten that out of my system. I can always queue top/mid for a game to be reminded why I've mained Support for 7 seasons. Ya'll Rabadon-rushing, wardless, chain-death auto-fills make my head hurt. (- - _ - - )

EDIT: I've run Xerath support, actually. Decent in a poke comp if you can land his W & R. Most games scenarios though, Velkoz 's true damage transitions into mid game better.

Tried Ahri support. Too much of her power budget is tied up in mobility and she doesn't scale well on a support income. Charm alone, does not an effective support make.

If this was a rage post, then fine. If it's attempting to present a real argument I have a few objections:

Don't conflate off-meta and feeding. Correlation is not causation.
I get your frustration. I play support often and having a dope down there with you is absolute hell. But the S7 changes to support (e.g. getting carry mages) is a good evolution for the game. Are there growing pains? Yes. But once we move beyond them it will be a net-gain.
People asking for traditional supports are equivalent to asking for traditional gender roles. You don't actually care, you just don't want anyone muscling in on your territory. But I find this to be a very self-centered view of the game. And frankly, in a game that favors adaptability, if the support happened to get some kills, adapt. Or push yourself harder. Don't ask for your support to suck more.
The anecdotal evidence you're citing isn't something we can operate on. But what I'd say to you us (and I do this) if the support is the role you find weakest, play it and run the table on people. Because if the weakest link in stronger than their weakest link, you should be winning.

I love me some Trundle support. He tanks/disrupts/peels and confuses the crap out of the opponents in bot most of the time. I win pugs over 90% of the time as support Trundy. He is off-meta as supp so he isn't perfect but with the correct situational build and play style he can rip bot lane like mofo. Lots of fun and stupidly OP coz he can still farm lane mid to late game if you need to carry scrubs.
