Why am I keep matching with Diamond players in blind pick games?

Hey guys and Riot，

I'm yingsu, a Gold V support-main player since season 4. For last couple months, I kept having this issue of constantly matching with Diamond rank players in blind pick games; This happens more frequently If I group with my friends . Though I do enjoy fighting against Diamond player when I play solo, I am a Gold V player after all, never made it to platinum. constantly matching with high rank players significantly worsen my game experience, especially when I was playing with my friends who are silver 2 and lower. This leads the situation that I have to borrow an accout in order to play a nice and even game together with my friends.

Does anyone have similar problem like this? Please share your solutions!

Norms have a diffrent mmr than ranked, which is why a premade of 4 bronzes ans a silver can go up againt 2 bronzes 2 siovers and a master player, kek.

Most people above d5 mainly just play ranked and only really jump into norms to play with a friend, try a new champ/skin/build, or straight chill once in a while from a day of tryharding for elo (i speak from personal experience :3). And by doing so usually dont have their tryhard pants on and will usually lose more than they would normally if they using their full strength. As such, there may be some smurfs who play excusively ranked once they get the option and say if their main is banned or the ranked ques are down and they go into a norm for the first time on said smurf (which is now master) said smurf will probably have a norms mmr akin to around low silver ish. As such, the weird matchmaking

So if u see a high elo person in ur norms game (especially blind) its cuz they dont play norms much.

Also on the flip side, there are some high elo people that tryhard in norms (cuz...they...idk wanna flex their e-muscles?), and have a drcent winrate so their norm mmr isnt much lower than their ranked mmr. In that case if ur gold and ur fighting mostly diamonds and masters that tryhard, ur norm mmr is prob just through the roof. (If thats the case get out there and rek the ladder and git dat bread :3)

Thats basically the gist. Every que has a diffrent mmr, so ur solo q rank wont effect ur flex 3/5 normal draft/blind ques at all really.

p.s. In my recent game, I got matched with 2 D5 players and 1 D4 player on the other side of team. Ouch! item 3070
