Just wondering if you get bonus shield value from bonus health that you have purchased on Pyke. My honor level isn't high enough so i cant download the pbe myself to check

Thanks! 8D

I can check when I get home, but I think he can't use it at all. His kit is specifically designed to remove any chances of becoming tanky, and a shield like Locket would make him tough to take out.

I hope is that hes pretty squishy and locket allows a skilled player to gain some survivability in situational circumstances (seeing as the shield only lasts for 2.5 secs) as well as allowing him to still build a traditional support item to help his team.

The thing is, Pyke is not intended to build traditional support items at all. He's only intended to build Relic Shield, and after that, roll full AD in order to be a hyper aggressive assassin support. He supports his allies through his CC and his damage output that creates kill lanes.

If that was the case, I don't see the need for the passive in the first place then. In my mind the passive is there to allow Pyke to purchase support Items that grant bonus health, but still allow him to perform the aggressive assassin role without losing out on damage. I cant see the designers giving him a whole passive just for relic shield

But this is all guessing seeing how I haven't played him yet, you could very well be right.

The passive specifically prevents him from becoming incredibly tanky by building cheap support HP items, since he's got loads of CC and an assassin's damage. So while you can build support items on him, they're not ideal, since his main role is to support via his CC and damage output, and not through sheer utility from items like Janna or Leona would. He will do his job a lot better if he's building cheap AD items like Duskblade and Yomuu's that allow him to deal more damage and slice through enemies faster.

I dont see anything innately in his kit that gives him "assassins" damage, his base AD is 60 with a growth of 2 AD per level and It seems that none of his non ult skill base damages are anything special, so I would argue to be effective on pyke, no matter what you need to build AD.

I dont think the passive's purpose is to stop Pyke from becoming tanky. I see the effect of this passive as a way to expand the viability of other items on Pyke since he needs AD to succeed,** in exchange **for making him squishy. Pyke is allowed to convert bonus HP to AD at 100% gold efficiency which broadens his options when it comes to purchasing items which allows him to consider other items other than Duskblade (although this will be core on him) and Yomuu's while still not feeling like he is being built sub optimally.

Or at least I hope! 8D

My guess is it does not synergize since Pyke gets AD _instead _ of bonus health.

The text on the champion reveal says "Pyke also converts his bonus health into bonus attack damage instead" Which could mean that the game still views him as having "bonus health" as a stat, but when it goes to apply it on Pyke it is converted to AD. So i am just wondering if the game only takes into consideration bonus health that is applied to the health bar, or bonus health as a stat in and of itself.

Just tested it, Pyke only has the base shield from the Locket, he does not have any of the bonus shielding from bonus HP.
