Irelia - could be very fun

Hello everyone, I was testing out Irelia with the new Q AD scaling (1->1.2) and an idea came to mind: Instead of buffing the Q AD scaling and with that rewarding AD items more instead of the item 3025 item 3053 item 3065 Wouldn't it be interesting to have a new playstyle: Crit - Squishy Assasin - Irelia. This would involve her Q to be able to crit, and the scaling to be reverted (Balancing department gonna hate me for that). This would open up a new very fun playstyle item 3508 item 3078 item 3031 without influencing much more. This could be done in the same fashion as MasterYi Alpha Strike crit scaling, easier to balance than a full AA crit.

Just sharing, looks very interesting and fun to me, Justice

Her kit doesn't benefit from crit build. W only scale with attack speed, E is ok i guess? her ult doesn't heal that much you better buy more resistance to make it more effective.

Her other abilities do not benefit much from it, but thats good. The rest of her kit is useful on her own, and for her W, you could go trinity PD, it adds yet another build path. Her ult is not affected in any negative way by this change, she would heal a little more since she has more AD, that's all.

She just dies too fast if she's not tanky. It doesn't matter how much damage you do if you're melee and you get stunned once and crit by an ADC for all your health.

True, the playstyle would be comparable to mid MasterYi or Akali In the sense that you do a lot of damage, but you rely on skill, mobility and resets to get out alive.

It wouldn't work. She gets one, maybe two q's in a fight (a very long fight) because of it's huge CD. Her play is all around getting the resets on her q so she can use it to close fights. Weakening her for what would basically be one extra crit per fight would really be useless, especially since crit builds encompass up to five items it would force her to give up all the other advantages she gets from itemization(tankiness, lifesteal, sustained dmg). This really hurts her farming, because you have less margin of error to q minions, and killing a minion based on the crit makes it more of a Russian roulette to use q to farm.

"Huge CD" is an overstatement, but I do understand what you're saying. You would have to wait like a kha'zix or katarina to go in, and not really fill your mid damage roll. You would be strong in skirmishes, and depending on how you snowballed your early-mid game, you could splitpush. I disagree on the farming. Her farming will require more skill, but with your higher AD and your crit chance, a good minion kill -> trade -> minion disengage could win you the lane. On her itemization, you would be playing another champion basically, based around heavy roaming and bursting your enemy, Comparable to a Talon or Yi mid lane. I do appreciate your in depth comment.
