Ekko: The boy who shattered my win streak

Can anyone tell me if riot has ever commented on why champions are allowed in ranked on release day? Do they assume we all have PBE access? Certainly they have demographics data and know that the age and maturity of their players is a factor that leads to people playing things they do not know just to show a skin or champion after release. Does anyone find release day ranked appropriate? Can anyone provide me with a solid reason why it should be allowed the way it currently is? As I see it every new champ is just a time when I have to beg for it to be banned while some small child begs for it not to.
Riot, could you provide us with data on how common dodging is in ranked champion select when new champions are released and picked? I would like to know the ratio of dodge frequency between a champion select, say in the first 3 days reksai was released, comparing how many of the games reksai had been locked in vs how many had not (and more importantly, the percentage of all games dodged, vs the percent of games dodged in which the new champ was picked) EDIT: And if you are not hooking this data you really should be...

I agree! Riot has a lot of inconsistencies about what ranked is supposed to be. They removed free week champions from the Ranked queue, but allow newly released or newly purchased champions to be played.

They build a system to automatically ban people who are toxic in game, but cannot claim they cannot easily program a system to punish pregame or post game behavior.

I agree. I think there should be at LEAST a 1-week Ranked Disable for any newly-released champion (see Azir, the most garbage midlaner in the game). Maybe even 2 weeks to allow people to actually get some experience with him.

I wish you would read. This is more about riot allowing newly released champions into ranked

I'm still waiting for Riot to use the masteries to their advantage instead of them doing absolutely nothing.
Everybody says they'd like to see it paired with Cromas, but I'd love to see it paired with Ranked ability.

Every time you buy a champion you should be prohibited from playing ranked with him/her/it until you play 5 normals(at least). Every time a new champion gets releashed they should be prohibited from ranked for everyone for a whole week, so that everyone has an equal chance to grab them and learn them. All champions should be unlocked for free to play in ARAM, so that everyone gets at least a tad bit of experience no matter what.

Ekko broke your win streak?

I wish I was that lucky. Hell, I wish I win at least 2 games everyday

Because people have fun with them, obviously.

im happy to see this is getting some responses. Isn't anyone else curious about the dodge rates?

I don't agree, the sooner I can learn to play against the champion the better. While you might hate having that person on your team, the other team is bound to have a similar person which, in theory, should even out any loss you had procured. I don't find it to be a problem.
