Look, I get it. I dislike queuing up and not getting my preferred role as well. But if you are playing ranked you should be able and willing to play any role. If you can't that is on you, not on Rito, and MOST CERTAINLY not on the teammate who got your preferred role. If you didn't get your role and got autofilled to support, well, suck it up.

Oh you will certainly play worse on a role you are less experienced with, that much is unavoidable. But you should be good enough that getting autofilled to support isn't a guaranteed loss. You can learn to play something safe like Janna, and just avoid negatively effecting your team, even if your can't positively effect them.

Yes i did, but i never tried it in Master i feel like you don't need to go mid, i have a friend named Colazor(otp sona in d1 master s6) and she plays her support full ap without sightstone

No, but there are a lot of fill players (i met a lot of them those days) because while it is unfair the amount of support players in high elo is high unlike in gold for example where i tried to play on a smurf once with a friend and got autofilled support in the first game So this means if you pick fill you won't end up support everytime, you will end up toplane most of the time because if you look at master the amount of toplane players is the lowest, and toplane right now is in a bad spot dominated by tanks(poppy maokai nautilus) and ranged champions

Janna's weird. Soraka gets big heals and you know you're doing well, Blitzcrank pulls people in and gets them killed

Janna just stops people from doing things in the first place, you use all your stuff and nothing happens, so you think you did nothing, but in reality literally nothing happened, because you tornado'd the engage and now the enemy team are a bunch of sitting ducks

I remember back in S2 and S3 when I first started and i was told to not play ranked until I could competently play at least 4 roles. If you have a role you are weakest in, type it in chat, "Hey I can do whatever but X is my weakest role" Oftentimes someone will step up and take that role off your hands. People have gotten spoiled by having their favorite role every game these past 2 seasons, try and fit at least 3 lanes you have a champ you are comfy with. You dont have to have a mastery of the lane, just one or 2 champs that can go there.

I don't get why people would troll instead of dodge. Losing 3 LP and no mmr and being free to get back in game in 5 minutes or so (potentially not autofilled) is a lot better than losing 15+ lp and mmr and spending 20+ minutes (not to mention the possibility of getting punished for trolling).

If you get a couple situaitons where you need to dodge than sure the lp and time penalities start to hurt, but it's still better than mmr, and at that point you may want to just go play normals to cool off (or even to learn the other role[s]).

All in all I preferred pick order.

At least people back then were actually talking and you could make a role switch in most matches.

Now 95% of people read the role they got and alt+tab until it's their turn to ban or pick.

I can confirm, if I am auto-filled to adc or jungle it will go poorly. I can do alright, but not to the standard of my preferred roles

It really depends. I generally do good enough on those 2 roles (which are my weakest roles) to NOT feed.

It's the only thing you can do. Do your best, don't feed, do a bit of shotcalling and try to get carried by the 4 guys that got their main role.

They aren't wrong, though. There are people who will troll if autofill decides they'll get Support because they wanted Mid. That's true. They decide to ruin the game for the team because the game was ruined for them. Easy enough to understand.

What's wrong is to claim that all trolling exists due to this, which is a completely different statement.

I dodge my secondary role a lot, and at a certain point I get fed up. If I just dodged the past 2 games and waited 60 minutes to play this one..... I'm not dodging again.

According to every source of advice on how to rank up, being able to play every role is not what you're supposed to do.

I've even argued that it should be, and been shot down by players and rioters alike.

So Autofill goes directly against effectiveness.

If an ally didn't get their roll and autofilled Support, then the game's a loss whether they "troll" or play support. Just because they play the roll doesn't mean they're going to beat an enemy who queued Support. So it really doesn't matter if they deal with it.

That's because the new champ select makes it possible to choose 2 roles. It only sometimes happen that you get autofilled, so your the best for yourself would be to learn to play 2 roles, but learn them good. Before the new champ select, you had to learn every role because you would have to play every role once in a time. It is not a bad thing to learn the other roles tho. It offers diversity for your own sake, you can widen your knowledge about the game, which will help you in the long run. You will understand specific matchups and why your solo laner has no chance against his opponent or why your jungler doesn't gank as often as your enemy jungler.
