This game has become the most Toxic game I've ever played.

I have recently returned to this game following a 2 year break from it and I am actually shocked at just how toxic this game has become in that time. Now don't get me wrong, League had some toxicity in it in 2017 too but it was nowhere near how pronounced it is now. Back then maybe 1 in every 5, so about 20% of games I played had someone truly toxic in it. Sure just about every game someone got upset, threw an insult or two, stuff like that , but I'm talking people who take it a step further. The int feeders, the full-blown ragers, the rage-quitters, you know the severely toxic people. About 1 in 5 games had someone worth reporting back then, but now I literally haven't had a single game in over a week that I can say was actually a good game. Every single game I have played in the past week has just been horrible, here's some I can remember:

Someone full on raging at everyone telling them to kill themselves, they should never have been born, to get cancer and die, etc
Someone who ragequits the game, usually on their first death, but I even have had a few people ragequit the game because they were pinging for the jungler to help them, the jungler ganks the lane and secures the kill, but the jungler is the one who actually got the kill so the lane ragequits.
Someone who decides to int feed for whatever ungodly reason
Someone never connects so we remake
Someone never connects so we SHOULD remake but trolls decide to hold the game hostage by voting no, sometimes they also int, rage, etc.
A couple times I got matched as the solo in a 4 man premade and they just decided they didn't like me so they proceeded to flame me, cs starve me, int my lane, and just do everything they possibly could to make the game hell for me.
The jungler decides they don't like me so they basically do the same thing as the premade one
Fighting in pre-game lobby, people raging didnt get mid cause they didn't call fast enough, etc.
Someone trying to force someone else out of lane, usually because of the option right above this one, they lock in their champion anyway and go to the lane they wanted and are usually raging and flaming the entire time.

I have even had a couple games that someone on my team goes full troll mode, singles me out cause I'm usually the only other person who types at all, spends the entire game passive-aggressively insulting me, blaming me for anything that goes wrong, and usually tries to troll my lane by trying to take cs or just always follows me around to soak XP from me so im under leveled, then he goes into all chat and starts making up that I'm going berserk in chat and that IM the one following him around to soak xp, starts going sobstory to the enemy team and they buy it, I try to tell them whats really going on but they've alreayd been hooked by the troll so the enemy team will also spend all game insulting me and saying stuff like I'm pathetic for not leaving the guy alone and stuff and the single troll on my teal gets the entire enemy team to report me by the end of it.

Now so far I haven't gotten any chat restrictions or anything from these false reports from these trolls but I know for a fact I've recieved TONS of false reports this past week from all the ragers who report everyone at the end of games, but I'm worried that all these reports my account is getting might have put me on like a "watch list" or something so even if I do something that can even been seen as slightly rude I'll instantly get slapped with a punishment. I'm human too and I can get emotional so I'm worried about that, like if I throw in a curse word or something cause im upset, like if I said something like "oh my god this fucking jax is annoying" or something like that cause a jax is killing me a lot.

These are just the ones I can think of right now but this is every single game I have played in the past week there is always someone just being extremely toxic.

Like I said a couple years ago this was like 20% of normal games, now it's literally every single game I play.

Is there anything at all that can be done about this because if I didn't already love this game I sure as hell wouldn't keep playing it after what I have been going through.

I guarantee that any new players will be turned away by this, and I know that for a fact because when I just came back from my 2 year break I tried to get a friend of mine that I play with all the time to play league, we played enough games to get him to lv 11 and he told me he will never play this game again, I asked him why and he said this game is too toxic for him to enjoy.

sadly riot doesnt mind these players, they get banned and have to start a account over, which means theyll spend money on boosts and new champions... thus making riot more money. so if someone gets banned they enjoy it

WoW PvP is worse. But atleast i have more control over WoW PVP than i do LoL PVP. If someone spanks my 14year experienced, Arena master tooshy, i deserve to get yelled at.

it isnt just all pvp games, all games in general are toxic, hell even in something like monster hunter which is strictly coop has toxic players, I've had people join my hunts, remove all their gear, and run into the monster to die to insta fail hunts, but that is exceedingly rare.

All games have toxic players, but how often I run into truly toxic players in league trumps any other game ive played. And I play all the Dark Souls games, Bloodborne, For Honor, and other MOBAs like Smite and HoTS, nothing compares to league in how toxic the players are.

I feel like people who make these posts are causing this toxicity honestly lmfao. Like....... I hardly ever see this toxicity and when I do it's usually because I talk shit to the enemy lmfao. Especially in ranked like... no one ever says shit in most of my games.

So i guess OP... stop being a toxic asshole if you don't want others to be?

I am not toxic, and to prove it I havent even gotten a chat restriction despite most of these toxic players rage reporting everyone in the game.

I'm sure I get reported by these players at in at least half the games I play so if I was toxic in the slightest I'd have punishments on my account but I dont.

You on the other hand were extremely quick to try to turn this post on me and insult me at the same time so I'm guessing you ARE toxic and have received punishments, so thank you for helping to prove my point.

Its the enviroment Riot has created. Years of people being forced into games with actual brainlets, but if you say anything truthful to them you get punished. It forces the rage to build up inside, any man can be broken by league matchmaking

Even now, people are blaming the toxic community on "bad team mates", fully ignoring that they themselves can be that bad team mate at any time.

It really isn't. The only year of League, out of the thousands of games I've played (literally) since preseason 5, that was significantly less toxic than any other year was the Dynamic Queue season, since blatant griefing happened way less when you can negatively impact your own friend group, rather than a bunch of randoms. Not saying Dynamic Queue was good for the game, but if lowering toxicity was the goal, it did a way better job at it than you could do otherwise.

More on topic: All the random "disconnects" and "You go neck yourself" comments you describe is the typical shit that happens in this game. I had some dude rage quit my game 2 games ago, and my top laner talking about "His mother go die". Jungle Graves was hyper inting at super sonic speed and I was basically there to lose lp for no reason. Oh well, next. It ain't special.

You're talking about experiences in ranked, ranked has been about the same toxic wise yeah. Ranked is far less toxic than normals because most playing ranked care about winning.

Normals are the same, too. People don't even give a shit about the game they're playing when they play norms half the time. If half your team's gonna be blase about a 20 to 40 minute commitment, of course it's gonna be toxic for those that DON'T want Garen support or some stupid shit ruining their fun time. You just have to learn to not care in normal games. That's what I do.

I'm not saying it isn't, but it is more rare. Yes, people DO get just as toxic in ranked but it's far more common in norms and especially in the lower lvls where most the new accounts players make after getting permabanned reside.
